My Pal Scout has definitely earned his way into my daughters heart (and all of ours) and is definitely a My Wee View Fav of 2009.  We had the opportunity to review My Pal Scout earlier this year, you can read the review here.

Personalization is very important to parents and kids, I believe it gives children a sense of importance when something is made especially for them.  My Pal Scout, by LeapFrog is programmable with 1000’s of names to choose from.  You can also program your child’s favourite food, colour and animal.   Here’s the neat part, you can change My Pal Scout at anytime.  Unlike a personalized CD, My Pal Scout can be passed on from child to child, to change names and their favourite items, you simply have to plug the USB port into your computer and make the changes.

During the holidays LeapFrog made some Christmas songs available for download.  My husband plugged in My Pal Scout, and was able to add some popular Carols to her best friend.

When choosing a name for your baby every parent wants a name they love. Unfortunately, many parents love the same name. I am so proud to be a Mommy, it took us 4 years just to get pregnant!  So you can imagine, after such a long time, I never thought that I would be able to utter the words “Mommy”, yet alone be able to wear something that says the word “Mommy”.  Although I do consider Cammy (our dog), our first born child, people would have thought I was absolutely nuts if I would have worn a “Mommy” shirt before Genevieve came along.

We received a black oneseie size 6-12 months with the turtle graphic on a green box with our sons name on it and its so unbelievably cute. My dude is a bit bigger than average but it fits him just perfectly. We are also a cloth diapering family and the onesie is long enough in the body to close comfortably without it pulling at the neck or butt areas. When I received My Ubby for review, my brother was visiting. Allergic to all things baby, I was taken off guard when he grabbed the newly unwrapped package and settled in on my sofa for a nap. And that I had to wrestle it back from him. That is the kind of effect My Ubby has had on all resident and visiting members of our household.

My Ubby refers to a custom made blanket, or as its Kansas based makers describe it: “a blanket-friend that will always be by your side. Soft and warm, ubbies can also be used as a tissue, super hero cape, or sun shade. An ubby will never run away but sometimes hides. An ubby never gets mad or complains. A true companion for life”.

The last sentence rings particularly true for us. I find that there are very few things that come into our lives these days we know from the outset will become a family heirloom. Our family values our family valuables, meaning we have many treasures that have been passed down from the generations. I have been known to abandon a website that is not user friendly in pretty short order. Without telling you exactly when I was born I can tell you several key things I remember about my childhood which will give you an idea of what decade I grew up in. We rode in the back of the truck without seat belts, my first day of school I carried a Hollie Hobby lunch bag and I loved the television show Romper Room. I was asked to choose a personalized product for review and I poured over this website for an hour trying to make the perfect choice, there are so many options! I love frecklebox because of the variety of products as well as price points available. Coloring books are very budget friendly at only $6.95, puzzles are $12.95, lunch boxes are $26.95 each and books are $19.95 for soft cover and $34.95 for hard cover.

I choose the hard cover book ” Goes to the Zoo” personalized with Hudson for review and we love, love, love it! The front cover features several of the zoo animals featured in the book, there is a page for a personalized dedication, even the spine of the book had the full personalized title. “Hudson goes to the Zoo” takes Hudson through 16 full color pages of beautifully photographed animals with the challenge of finding their names camouflaged in each setting. Each double page spread features animals who invite your child to partake in the adventure. Hudson goes to the Zoo begins with “Howdy Hudson, Welcome to our magical zoo. We’re so glad you’ve come to visit. There so much we have to do”. It  is so cute and so well done, kudos to frecklebox! There are currently nine stories to choose from, I also love the idea of the book “ Guess who is  going to be a big brother” but we’ll have to wait a bit for that one!  Frecklebox he website is set up so you can preview the entire book with the personalization so you can read the story and see how beautiful it will be. We received our book with two weeks of ordering it and we are thrilled with it. We read it to Hudson everyday and it will be cherished in our home for years to come.
