Style and function seem to be a common theme in my household, and that is why I have chosen the Je’Marie FUMI PurseHook as a My Wee View Fav of 2009.  I had the opportunity to review the PurseHook  earlier this year, you can see the full review here.  Whenever I wear My FUMI PurseHook as a bracelet I get a tremendous amounts of compliments on how elegant, simple  and fashionable it looks.  Then I show them how it doubles as a PurseHook and they are taken aback even more.   A bracelet that looks classy and then keeps your purse off the dirty and dingy floor - genius.   I can’t decide if I love it more as a bracelet, or a PurseHook. This is why I have chosen the FUMI PurseHook as a My Wee View Fav of 2009.

I am a very over protective parent, I am so concerned with the well being, health and safety of my daughter.  I am sure I go over board with somethings, but I figure it is better to be safe than sorry.  I can’t quite understand why it is ok to micro chip your dog, but is deemed unethical to micro chip your child.  I love my dog, she is like our “first born” and would be very upset if she were to ever get lost.  If my daughter were ever to get lost, I would probably lose my mind, so to me it makes no sense that we don’t microchip our children.  In the meantime, there is some really great products by Spot Me ID that will help locate your child if they are to every get lost in a large crowd.

I have been a lucky child, and only remember being “lost” once at the beach.  I actually wasn’t lost at all, I knew that the tied had made me drift away from where my father was, so I went straight to the lifeguard and waited for my dad to find me.  I’m sure my dad was a lot more worried than I was.  Thankfully I was old enough to know my name, and tell the lifeguard all my info.  But I am sure there have been many times when children have been lost and were not old enough to tell an adult who they are, what their phone number is and how to get in touch with their parents.  This is why I love Spot Me ID.

Spot Me ID has 3 different systems for children to wear all their important information.  There are 7 different Spot Me ID themes.  All themes have a little dog “Spot” in a different setting, from the beach to the zoo.  All the themes are fun and children will enjoy wearing the “cool” bracelets, lanyards and Tattoos.

The child safety bracelets are waterproof, durable and reusable.  The bracelet system can fit small and large wrists and comes with a waterproof marker which is used to write the child’s name and 2 contact phone numbers where their parents can be reached if they end up lost.  Children love wearing bracelets.  I remember as a child I would wear my exhibition bracelet for weeks after the exhibition was over.  There should be no problem getting your children to wear the bracelet.  The only problem might be to have them take it off after your outing is over.

The lanyard is another great way to keep your child’s “find” info in an visible place.  Children will wear the lanyard around their necks, and have the Spot Me ID card attached.  The card once again includes the child’s name, and up to 2  different contact people and numbers.  The package comes with a waterproof marker, and the card is waterproof, durable and reusable.  Children will love wearing this around their necks in public.  Many adults wear lanyards at work with ID’s, and we all know how much children love to imitate their parents.

The last – and probably most creative Spot Me ID product, is the temporary tattoo.  The tattoos are all safe and have no toxins.  The tattoo provides a space for an emergency contact number in case your child is found wondering alone.    The package of tattoos also comes with wipes to easily remove the tattoos.  Children love wearing temporary tattoos, I can see no problems in getting your child to wear these while at a public event.  It may be difficult to save them for outings, I’m sure the kids will want to wear them regularly around the house – so make sure to get a few packages.

I love the concept behind Spot Me ID, because as a parent, my biggest fear is that my child will get lost.  It can happen so easily, just in the blink of an eye.  I want to ensure if my child does get misplaced for a few minutes, that the opportunity is there for them, and the person that finds them to contact me as soon as possible.  This will be at least a little bit of a piece of mind in a very stressful situation.  Even if my child were never to get lost, I would rather be safe than sorry, and have her wear the Spot Me ID products.

With Mother’s Day coming up shortly, I was on the look out for the perfect gift for my mother and came across the perfect gift for – not for my mom, but for me.  As a new Mom with a baby girl, I think its nice to coordinate what we are wearing so we match a little.  If she wears white – I try to wear white.  I’ve found the perfect accessory which will give us the opportunity to always be matching. Silken Things Jewelry has matching mother and daughters bracelets! Gentlemen, I have found the perfect gift for the new Mom in your life!  If you are looking for something special to buy for the new Mom in your life for a special occasion – like Mothers Day *wink wink*, these will make their way into your loved ones heart and be treasured forever!

Silken Things Jewelry is the creation of Mavis Thompson who is from Ottawa, Ontario. She makes jewelry for young and old, men and women.  As long as you have a wrist, a neck or ears, Mavis can create something for you.

Silken Things Jewelry sent me this wonderful Mother Daughter bracelet set.  These two bracelets showed up both in this cute little square purple box with a wrapped with little rose made out of ribbon. The presentation of the packaging, set the tone for the real gift – what was inside.   These two matching  pearl and sterling silver set are just perfect! Each pearl is perfectly white and round, while each of the individual silver spacers create a beautuful pattern that everyone is sure to love.  Both bracelts are the same pattern 2 pearls, then a silver spacer.  Both clasps are a simple spring which makes it easy to put on yourself, and there is no need to worry about it falling off. There is also need need to worry that your baby will be able to take this off either, as the claps needs to be opened by an adult.

silk3There is also a generous amount of extenders on both the mother and daughter bracelet.  This is especially great for the daughters bracelet because it allows your little one to wear it for a long time, my guess would be up until 4 or 5 years of age. And Mom, if your wrists happen to be a little larger then they used to be, no worries, the bracelet will be able to grow with you too. To complete the look of the bracelet, at the end of the extenders there is a matching silver pendant.

If you are looking for something extra special for the new mom in your life, this is the perfect gift.  The best part is the Mother and Daughter set is only $20, can you believe it?  That is way more than affordable.  At that price, you can buy your loved one 2 sets!

Silken Things Jewelry also makes single bracelets and earrings too, and all the prices are just as affordable as the mother daughter set.

Silken Things Jewelry is mostly made to order, so please contact Mavis at babysilknthings@hotmail.com if there is something you would like, and do not see it on her site, don’t despair, she can make it for you.

Contest closes April 6th at 11:59 pm PST.

This contest is now closed, however I do encourage you to write your own review in the comment section if you have any of ShandaGlass products

“Making Tiny Wrists Sparkle” – ShandaGlass will make your little ones wrist sparkle and shine. These mini bracelets made by Shari Nurse in Ottawa, are a great way to add a little bling to any princesses arm.   Shari decided to create her company while on vacation and looking for a special bracelet for their little girl that was good quality.  So, like many Mompreneurs, she decided to make her own.

Shari sent me the Amazing Amethyst (February) bracelet. Although my baby’s birthday is in August and her birthstone is green, I loved the bright purple and white combination, and so decided to choose that one. Although, it was a hard decision because all of ShandaGlass bracelets look amazing. The bright colour combinations make for a really pretty touch to any girls outfit.  Most of my baby’s outfits are pink so I thought purple would be a great accent colour.

I’m a big fan of packaging.  I think packaging says a lot about how much people put into their product. When a company takes the time to put that extra something into packaging, it shows pride in their product.  When I received my package from ShandaGlass I knew it was something special.   The bracelet was in its own little bag and Shari included a little bracelet tag and business card. It looked so cute, well put together and thought out.

When I opened my package up, I noticed  that the bracelet looked exactly like the one in the picture that I picked out (how often does that happen).  I was so pleased that what I had requested, was the same as what I received.  The purples and whites in the picture were the same as well as the little clasp.  So when you order from ShandaGlass you can be rest assured that your order will be exactly what you thought it would be.

I requested the toddler 5″ bracelet which is suppose to fit toddlers from 12 months to 2 years. My little girl is only 6 months old, so I thought it would be way too big, but it fits around her wrist without falling off.  It is a little big, but it’s great that she will be able to get some more wear out of it.  They do have smaller sizes as well.  The 5″ bracelet looks cute cause it’s so small, I can’t imagine how adorable the 4.5″ one must be.  Just to see a bracelet so small makes me smile.  Make sure to measure your baby’s arm, some wrists are a little chubbier than others.

The little heart shaped clasp is a great way to clip the bracelet on.  The T-bar fits perfectly into a little heart, so parents have no trouble sliding it through, but babies would not know how to, so you don’t have to worry about them accidentally taking off their bracelet.  My husband and mother were both able to put the bracelet on and off easily.  As you can see in the picture, the little heart adds that extra touch to an already amazing bracelet.

The wire used by ShandaGlass seems very strong and I am not worried about it breaking. Shari only uses the strongest AccuFlex coated stainless steel beading wire which is guaranteed not to break.  So I feel confident that the bracelet will not break.  Also ShandaGlass uses only the safest material for babies in case they choose to chew on their bracelets.  All materials are lead safe materials like glass beads, stainless steel wire, sterling silver and pewter.  All safe for exploring mouths.

So, I’ve told you all about these cute little treasures, now I want you all to know that they are very affordable as well. You can get your own bracelet for only $16.  How great is that?  This would make a great shower or baby gift.  It will be a keepsake that your baby will treasure when she is older.  Knowing that as a baby, she was special enough to have her very own little bracelet.  I have a baby ring with my initial on it that I have kept and am so pleased to know that I had. This bracelet will be the same for my daughter.  She will be able to wear it for sometime, then as she is older it will stay in a safe place in her jewelry box and maybe give to her daughter someday.

ShandaGlass also makes bracelets for children, teenagers, moms and boys, so no matter what you are looking for, there is something for everyone.  All her prices are all reasonable, and if they are the same quality as the bracelet I received, you will be pleased.

Shari at ShandaGlass has been amazing to work with.  She keeps in close contact making sure that you receive your product and that you are happy with it.  She pays close attention to detail and you will be pleased both with her customer service and her product.  If you are looking for a special keepsake, this is the one you should get.
