The Body Shop is most likely the first time I experienced heavenly scents. As a young teenager, I loved to wear Vanilla and Oceanus daily. The scents were never over powering, not too flowery and seemed to express the way I felt inside, light, airy (ha… take that however you want) and young. The Body Shop is always adding new scents to their line and they stand the test of time as they can make their way from generation to generation. (ahem, I may be the next generation.. cough and still enjoying their classic smells.)
This Spring, The Body Shop is featuring their top fav spritz’! The flavours are nearly edible: Strawberry, Moringa, Coconut, Mango, Shea, Satsuma, Pink Grapefruit and Vanilla. It sounds like a wonderful spring salad in the Caribbean while drinking a piña Colada. We all know this is exactly where I LOVE to be, and smelling these flavours brings me to a tropical place.
My favourite scent? It’s a toss up between Satsuma, Mango, coconut and the classic Vanilla – I might just mix all four. The Vanilla isn’t as “strong” as I once remember it. Maybe my senses are going or maybe The Body Shop has just lightened the scent over the years? Each scent is light and fresh with just a touch of sweetness and not overpowering. I’m not big on heavy perfumes, these smell like you’ve just eaten a grapefruit or clementine rather than sprayed yourself.
The Body Shop is also have a Spring lineup of lipglosse: Coconut, Peach, Cocoa, Strawberry, Watermelon, Mango, Mint, Pink Grapefruit, Plum and Raspberry. Each smells as lovely as it sounds and have a different hue that lightly colours the lips (besides the mint as it’s nearly clear). I found the Mint most surprising. While it’s customary to have mint flavour in a lip chap, I’ve never had it as a gloss before… it kind of reminded me of a mojito…. fresh mint! I just wish the lip gloss also tasted good. They are flavourless unfortunately (or fortunately which ever way you want to look at it).
My favourite smelling lip gloss’ are the Peach and Coconut flavours while my favourite colours are Pink Grapefruit, Raspberry and Watermelon. None are as bright as a lipstick, but just shiny enough to enhance your natural beauty (and some even have sparkle).
