Wreck-It Ralph DVD

Disney’s latest release Wreck-It Ralph is out on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 5th.

Here’s a Synopsis:

From Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Wreck-It Ralph” takes viewers on a hilarious journey. For decades, Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) has played the bad guy in his popular video game. In a bold move, he embarks on an action-packed adventure and sets out to prove to everyone that he is a true hero with a big heart. As he explores exciting new worlds, he teams up with some unlikely new friends including feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman). The film is directed by Emmy®-winner Rich Moore.

My family and I sat down to watch this movie last week, and I was surprised to see hubsters eyes light up as he saw some of his favourite classic video game characters come to life. I was never really a gamer, but even recognized some of the classics, like Mortal Combat and Q-Bert. Most surprisingly however is how much Princess LOVED the movie. She literally pulled up a chair in front of the television to finish her movie when we had an unexpected (but very welcome) guest stop by. Because the adults were talking a little bit too loud, she had to get closer to the television to hear (I don’t usually let her get this close, by the way). She actually sat through the entire movie, and has watched this movie a few more times since then (this doesn’t happen often).

The movie has a bit of “language” and some guns, nothing extreme, but it’s present. The movie is rated PG so be prepared for it. My husband and daughter really enjoyed the movie, my eyes kind of glossed over a bit, but like I said video games were never really my thing.

I was a gamer as a kid, back in the days of Nintendo and Sega Genesis.
played a little since then, but I think games have evolved beyond me.

Not really – we had an Atari growing up and have a Nintendo 64 (DH), Sega (DH), Xbox (DH) – all of which he doesn’t use and a DSiXL (DD) which is played occasionally.
