OPI

It’s almost time to start thinking about sandal weather again! Yippee!! For myself, I’m getting a jump start by going south.  I can’t wait to dip my toes into some warm gulf water and powder white sand.  Before heading south, I usually go for a pedicure, but this time I’m going to be using my own nail polish (which just so happens to be the same kind that is used at the salon I attend anyway).

OPI has added some new polishes to their amazing Nicole line, there are some from the award winning show Modern Family, Selena Gomez, and some new colours just for 2013.  I always get excited when I get new nail polish.  My hazel eyes light up as I sift through the colours, and this line includes many shimmers and sparkles, which also lit up “mini me’s” eyes as well.

Here are some of the colours I was sent to review:

Plum to Your Senses! - You KNOW this deep, dark plum is the perfect choice.
Stand by Your Manny - Be loyal to this periwinkle blue.
Please Red-cycle - Do the right thing and wear this apple red over and over
Totally in the Dark - This shimmery black is completely unexpected.
Haley Good Lookin’… - She’s cookin’ up plans for this pink super-glitter.
Naturally - Who wouldn’t want this pure pink dream?
Still Into Pink - Our love for hot pink will never grow cold.
Am I Making Myself Claire? - Make no mistake…I’m liking this lilac.
Scarlett - This shimmery red-violet is leading lady lovely

Of course, we all had to get our toes does right away, and the clear winner was Scarlett, it’s shimmery cross between red and pink will make any women excited about get getting her nails done.  We loved the colour so much we thought it might also look nice on the cream carpet…. It’s a good thing we love the colour, because we will be looking at it for the next few years.  Of the other colours, I suggest Still Into Pink, Please Red Cycle, and Naturally if you like brighter colours while Stand by Your Manny and Am I Making Myself Claire? are a little more reserved.  If dark is your thing, then Totally In the Dark and Plum to Your Senses will be a better fit.  Haley Good Lookin’ on the other hand is a clear polish with pink sparkles, it’s not really over powering and would probably be best on top of another colour.

It’s been about a week since I put the polish on my toes (without a top coat) and there’s a small chip on my big toe, and that’s all.  What I’m most surprised about is how quickly my nails have grown in a short period of time.  I will be brining this polish with me on holidays so I can always have my toes and fingers looking fine while in sunny Florida.

PS – on a side note.. anyone have tips for getting polish out of carpet?
