I hope you’ve been enjoying some quick easy and tasty recipes here at My Wee View – I know I’ve been enjoying making them and especially testing them out. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I am not a chief, or even a cook really. I lack imagination and need all the help I can get in the kitchen.
The latest kitchen helper? Olivieri. This is like having an Italian chef right in your home, even if you didn’t marry one. We eat pasta frequently at home, it’s easy and Miss Picky Eater will even chow down on it. We usually have the same old pasta (spaghetti or rigatoni) and the same old sauce (spaghetti). Sound familiar? Thought so… I know we’re not alone. It’s hard to get creative in the kitchen, and very easy to revert back to old classics.
We recently tried an Olivieri meal in our home. We had the 3 cheese pasta with alfredo sauce complete with chicken. The meal itself was quick and super easy. Drop the pasta in boiling water and heat the sauce in a sauce pan (that’s my kind of dinner). I am currently off work right now, but who has time (with a new baby, or after a busy day at the office), to whip up an extravagant dinner on a week night? Certainly not me, and if you do, please tell me your secret!
I would never be able to make a sauce taste like this from scratch, and if I were to try, it would probably take way too long for the high standard I would be hoping for. While it’s not the absolute best sauce I have ever tasted, it certainly is better than anything I could ever make (I’m sure everyone in my home would agree to this statement) and even better than some of the sauces I’ve had at restaurants. Over all, the meal was very yummy, my husband even asked to take the leftovers to work the next day (on a Friday no less).
There are a lot of different Olivieri sauces, pastas and even garlic bread. I’ll be picking some up for the evenings when we need something quick easy and tasty!
