The Dyson Digital Slim is the latest addition to the Dyson line. If you’ve had the chance to test out different vacuums, you know that the cyclone technology is like no other. Those mini tornadoes can suck up more dust and hair balls then a dog can shed and a cat can cough up.
They Dyson Digital Slim has all the power of the classic Dyson’s but has a few extra benefits. The first and most notable, is that there is no cord. Yes, that’s right, it’s cordless. So it can easily go wherever you can go without having a cord to mess around with, it’s easy to travel from room to room and there’s no need to look around for the next plug. This does mean however that it needs to be charged. It’s simply plugs into the wall and is ready to go for about 20 minutes or so.
The second best feature is the long arm which allows the vacuum to go under everything, couches, beds, you name it. The arm is only a few inches thick, so it can fit under anything extremely easily. Here it is, under the couch. It’s not easy work moving around couches to get the very back, with the Dyson Slim, it simply slips all the way under the couch (where a lot of dust bunnies used to live).
The vacuum is shaped a little bit different than other vacuums, so it takes a little getting used it to using it. It feels more like pushing a canister vacuum around in your hand, without the drag of the canister. It’s not a bad thing, just different. On top of all that, it’s only 5 pounds, it’s super light and can easily be brought up and down stairs. Serisously, it’s very light and easy to push around, and lift.
Now, let’s talk about the suction…. this thing really SUCKS! There is no vacuum (other than other Dyson’s) that suck up as much gunk. If you’ve never used a Dyson before in your home, you will be very surprised to see what your old vacuum was leaving behind. You will most likely be disgusted actually. But you’ll be happy to know that your new vacuum is getting your home ultra clean.
One last, and probably insignificant note (as it has nothing to do with functionality), the vacuum has 2 suction levels and the second level is fairly loud. My 5 week old daughter sleeps through it, but compared to other vacuums it is quite a bit louder.
Over all, this Dyson would be great for smaller homes or homes with just a little bit of carpet or anyone that can not lift a lot of weight. It’s just as powerful as any Dyson vacuum, just in a smaller package.
Do you have a Dyson Digital Slim? What do you think of it?
