A Little Slow on the Resolutions This Year

by Mommy on January 7, 2013

It’s a new year, which usually means resolutions, and ways to make yourself and your life better.  I went back to read my last years resolutions and was pleased to see, I kept them all.  I continued eating chocolate, we bought a new house and I’ve spent more quality time with my family.

I’m not really sure what to resolute this year (is that even a word, resolute, I don’t think it is, but I’m not sure what the right word actually is, so I’m using resolute … maybe it’s resolve…?).  I could have never expected I was going to have a baby in 2012, it truly was a pleasant surprise.  Needless to say, I have a bit of baby tummy that I have to get rid of.  Nursing has proven better at getting rid of tummy blubber than eating right and exercise.  I’m getting closer to my pre-pregnancy weight everyday.  I only have about 10 pounds to go, and am thinking I might even be able to slim up even more.  So, I’m not even sure if losing weight is a fair resolution.

I’m far from perfect (just don’t tell husband I admitted that), so I am also going to make a resolution to be a better person (I’m sure this is one we could all do).  I want to show acts of kindness to my family, friends and even strangers.  Sometimes just a smile, opening a door and saying thank you are easy ways to show people you care about them.  I am going to do this more often, I truly am a lover of people, and random acts of kindness is a simple way to show people you care.

I’m also going to make a resolution to spend more time with my family.  With a new baby I obviously don’t have as much time to spend online, but I also want to make a resolution to spend quality time with my husband and Princess Busy as well.  I also want to say that I will make a resolution to have 1 computer/social media free day, but realistically, I don’t know if I can go there just yet.  But I can say that I will spend quality time with my family and put my phone away when we have family time (including at the dinner table).

That’s what I can think of for now.  I will of course continue to eat chocolate and travel no doubt (which is also a popular resolution for many), but either way, I am very excited to see what’s in store for 2013.

What are your resolutions?  Can you believe it’s taken a week to get  a new years post up?  Maybe I should make a resolution about that…… but then again maybe not!

Those look like good resolutions to me — especially eating chocolate; definitely can not argue with that!

I hope the year brings you mane moments with Hubby, Princess Busy, and that beautiful baby.

Happy 2013!
