I could have never imagined I would become pregnant again. I truly believed we would be a happy family of 3. Well, surprise, surprise, here I am 6 1/2 months pregnant and despite being incredibly ill through most of it, I couldn’t be happier. I also couldn’t have “picked” a better time to be pregnant with Princess # 2.
Last time I was pregnant it was early 2008. We were through the roof to be pregnant (it “only” took 4 years,,,, like this time), and we were set on getting our house ready for our special arrival. We did so much shopping – who know such a small person took up so much space in a house? We spent a lot of time (and money) at Sears – who hasn’t?!? This time around, I am incredibly fortunate to be a Sears The Baby’s Room Ambassador. Sears has recently changed up their baby department and I will have a chance to check it out! There are over 190 Sears Stores in Canada and only 22 ambassadors, so I feel incredibly lucky that both myself and the Halifax store have been selected for this opportunity.
Last week, I went into Sears to see first hand the changes sears has made to The Baby’s Room. As I stepped off the escalator, my eyes lit up as I was greeted by the most adorable baby room, set up with a crib and a pink and brown decor – something I could picture in my home. Being a Mom, we tend to lose our brain during this pregnancy stage, so physically seeing a bit of innovation, can easily give us ideas about what we can do in our own homes. Yes, I need this innovation, with a 4 year old at home and a baby on the way, it goes without saying my brain is a “bit” mushy. This is just one of 4 baby room displays laid out, there are other rooms with rocking chairs and change tables as well – something for everyone.
Other significant changes I noticed was the stroller section. How many stores have you gone to where the strollers are physically tied down to the brick and mortar? The Baby’s Room has a large wide aisle and all strollers can easily be moved around and tested out.
The car seats are also laid out by stages. I know my fist time shopping for car seats I was a little overwhelmed as to what I needed when my bundle of “Never going to sleep the same again” came home. It’s now laid out easily for expecting parents to make the right choices for the special day when their lives will never be the same.
I also had the chance to meet the store managers, Jim and Jennifer. And over the next few months will have a chance to get to know them even better, as I visit the store regularly.
I was truly impressed with the chances made in the baby section at Sears. It’s a huge improvement from how the store was laid out in the past. Go check it out for yourself and let me know what you think.
Oh, and one last thing, before I forget (preggo brain, remember). There’s a “Everything Baby Sale” on this week till October 25th, most items are 15% off and clothing is up to 40% off.
Enjoy!!

Sorry to hear you have been ill. What a wonderful post on Sears baby store. I too was impressed with the stages laid out. It really helped my daughter.
I need to check out Sears Baby Room as my daughter is expecting late December.
