The kids have been in school for over a month now, for me this is the first year starting a routine. How are you making out with getting everyone up early, making lunches, homework and proper bedtimes? I’ve lucked out with pre-school, it only starts at 11:30am, so Princess’ morning and night routine have remained the same, we just added school 3 days a week.
So far, school has been going ok. The first few weeks were fantastic, then she had a bathroom incident and it’s been a bit harder to get her excited to go to school. She’s even gotten to the point where she refuses to eat at school. When kids wont eat at school, it’s time to get creative. We’ve tried everything, all her favourite treats, and even juice boxes are going uneaten – a little concerning, but she will grow out of it (I hope).
As a Life Made Delicious blogger, I have a chance to test out some yummy treats here are there. This month my family and I had the opportunity to try some Yoplait Yogurt. This week I put some of the Yoplait Tubes in her lunch box hoping Princess I’m not Hungry would eat them at school. Unfortunately, we weren’t successful, however as soon as she left school and was in the car, the first thing she asked for was her Yougrt Tube! So, it’s a start, we’ll try again in the up coming weeks. She really loves the little tubes, so I’m hoping by putting them in her lunch she will crack one day and have to eat it in school.
I’ve also noticed, I can get her to eat nearly all her supper if I “bribe” her with a YOP drink. Sometimes I have to bribe her with candy (I know, I know – I’m sure we’ve all done it), but bribing her with a YOP feels much better. She loves these drinks, and there’s very little guilt asking her to eat her chicken to be rewarded with YOP, hey they are full of Calcium and Vitamin D. I think it’s a win/win situation for both of us, because there lots of nutrition in those little bottles and she’ll eat her supper just to drink one – success!
I hope your routine is back on track or if you’re just starting one (like me), I hope it’s going a little more smooth then at our house. And if not, try bribing them with some Yoplait products, it might just work.

Back into my routine and it is going pretty smoothly.
My little one has not yet begun school but I can sympathize with bribing kids to eat.
We are back in the routine and it’s going well. My boys have a few years of back to school under their belts so they fall back into it pretty easily.
The first few day were challenging because the kids were used to staying up later during the summer but by week 2 we were back in the school rhythm.
My DD was super excited for Grade 1. So far, no problems (except for the first day when she wanted me to stay in class with her).
We are back on track! My just turned 4 year old daughter needs bribery to eat sometimes too. She loves vanilla yogurt — and only vanilla. Love the idea of Yop drinks as a bribe! DD is in preschool once a week.
Back into a routine now. The beginning is tough but after a week, it’s okay
We are back into routine, and it is going great
We are in a new routine but it’s all going to change again next month when we have another baby.
