Walmart Mom of the Year – Finalists

Thanks to everyone who submitted a very special Mom for the Walmart Mom of the Year Award.  The finalists have been chosen and there are 8 amazing candidates that truly express what being a mother is all about.  Take the time to read each of their stories, make sure to bring a few tissues along cause there are some tear jerker stories.

Mom’s are so special, they are always doing things for people other than themselves.   I have to admit, I’m much more selfish than my own mother, she gives and gives and gives never expecting anything in return.  She’s amazing mother and grandmother, she has more patience than anyone I’ve ever met in my life.

One of the finalist, Wendy White reminds me so much of my own Mother, even her subtitle is “Patient Mom Extraordinaire!”  She does everything for everyone and still mows the lawn, yes, this is my Mom.   Constantly being positive, giving support and being there for everyone – yup, that’s my Mom.  Selfless and always giving no matter how tired or what things may be going on in their own lives…. this is the Mom of all Moms – it’s my Mom.

All of these Moms are spectacular, chosen from over 16 000 candidates, they have to be extra special.  Each of them will receive $10,000 and $10,000 to give to the charity of their choice – how amazing would that feel?  The grand prize winner will be given $100,000 to give to the charity of their choice.  The winner will be announced later this month at a special gala in Toronto which all Moms will be in attendance.  What an amazing group of people to be surrounded by.

This campaign will run again in 2013, so get your posts ready to nominate an amazing Mom in your life.  What I love most about this campaign is these women are just doing what they do best, be themselves. This time around, they are being rewarded for it, even without expecting a reward in the first place.  They would live their lives exactly the same even if the Mom Of The Year Award didn’t exist.  This alone is something they and their whole family should celebrate!  Way to go Moms!
