Superstore Insiders – Giveaway

What’s new? Well, if you’re a Superstore shopper there’s lots new.  I really love getting my Superstore packages, they always include the latest and greatest products and they are mostly always a huge hit in our home.

We received a bunch of products for review this time around. Our favourite was the  PC Decadent Chocolate Chip Mini Bars – according to PC, they are: “peanut-free with all the crazy-good flavour and richness of PC The Decadent chocolate chip cookies!”  I have to say this statement is more than true.  They are so yummy.  Even myself, with my out of whack taste buds loved this chocolaty treat.  I don’t even think we were able to put them into the cupboard to have any later because everyone in our home finished off the box quickly.  At only $2.49 this treat is mini (not a full bar) and will quickly satisfy your sweet tooth.

The PC Honey Chipotle Kettle Cooked Almonds were another product we tested out.   Being 6 months pregnant, I found these to  be a little too spicy for me, but my Mom is really enjoying them.  She loves the crunch of nuts and she’s enjoying these snacks. Almonds are a very healthy snack, I’m not sure if the seasoning takes away too much from the healthiness, but it adds to the taste.

The PC Gourmet Sour Jelly Beans are a huge hit with hubster and Princess Candies.  I’m not one for sour candies, but it seems our little girl is really taking after her dad.  They love gummy’s, any kind of gummy’s so much so that I often have to hide them.  As for Princess, we use sweets such as gummy’s for bribery, I mean…. as a reward for when she’s good.

The Tassimo PC The Great Canadian Coffee T discs were also a hit in our home and at the office too (I bought some for work).  I myself do not drink coffee, but hubster and my co-workers do and within just a few days, the discs had vanished.  I did notice these were cheaper than the other brands and I guess they must have been just as tasty.  The way I see it, if no one complains, they have to be good.  I haven’t heard a single complaint, so I’m left to believe they are tasty.

I also really wanted to try the 5 layered nacho dip with guacamole, but it was so popular there wasn’t any left in store.  I was disappointed, but I’ll go on the hunt for it next time.

PC has also added a few new Baby products for the Mom’s and Dad’s out these.  The most significant that I’ll be interested in are diapers.  I’m looking forward to Baby Girl being born so I can test these out.  While I generally used cloth diapers with Princess 1, I used regular diapers when she was just born and sometimes during outings.

New Hobby

While surfing Pinterest a few months ago, I came across the most adorable Crochet Booties.  I told myself it was something I wanted to try to do.  Not full expecting to enjoy it or even be good at it, I recently picked up a crochet hook and yarn and put myself to the challenge.  To my surprise, I love it.  The last time I fell in love with a hobby, it was nearly 4 years ago. I never thought at the time Blogging would turn out to be what is has become today!  So who knows where and what crocheting will bring me.

Here is my latest project.  Once again, don’t look too closely, I’m still in the learning phase, but it’s really enjoyable and very satisfying to see the finished product.

Do you have a hobby?

Kid Who Touches Everything $10,000 Giveaway

This is our first year in “school” (preschool to be exact) and as it turns out, the rumours are true – school time means sick children.  Already Princess First Time at School has come home with the sniffles.  It’s not like I should be surprised, but I guess I didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.  I’ve just had a scratchy throat which didn’t develop into anything too serious (which is great considering I’m trying to stay off medication at all costs while being pregnant).  Let’s hope it stops at the sniffles and sneezes – but I think that’s wishful thinking on my part.

What’s the best way to keep those pesky germ buggers away? Hand washing, and lots of it.  Thanks to Lysol, we have the No Touch soap dispensers and it gets used A Lot.  Princess Hand Washer has to wash her hands plenty of times in a day just so the automatic soap dispenser squirts out some soap – but this mom isn’t complaining.  I just usually tell her 3 or 4 squirts is enough, no need to count to 10 (although she has been learning to count in French….and anything that helps is a bonus).

I’m sure your kids touch everything too, I can get some serious dry heaves when I think of some of the places Princess Germy has placed her little fingers (not to mention her mouth licking the bottom of her flip flop).  For those kind of kids, Lysol has a $10,000 giveaway for you called “Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap “Is Your Kid a Kid Who Touches Everything?”  It’s a photo contest where the winner will win $10,000 cash and $10,000 to donate to a school.

Have you got a photo that shows how “your kid touches everything?” That’s exactly what Lysol is looking for.  Submit your photo through Facebook – Good Luck!

I also have a giveaway for you too.

Giveaway:

  • 1 lucky winner will receive a Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap kit, which includes the dispenser, batteries, and 1 refill

New Balance – Shoes for School (2 winners)

This year was Princess Pre-school’s first time in a structured educational setting.   Hubster and I were more than nervous, we tried play school back in April, and it didn’t go well – at all.  This September, we sweated and probably got a few (extra) grey hairs in anticipation of sending her to “big” school.  We prepared her as much as we could.  On day 1, there was crying and on day 2 there was a little crying and on day 3 there was no crying.  Hip Hip Hurray, she did it.

School has been a huge success and a huge relief for hubster and I.  There is one small issue however that we are working though, and it’s her shoes… I know, this sounds our of the ordinary, let me explain.  Each student is required to leave one pair of shoes at school.  Princess I Love My New Sneakers is having a really hard time leaving her brand new favourite pair of New Balance sneakers in the classroom at the end of each day.

I can understand why she loves these shoes so much.  Being 4 years old isn’t easy, there are some things she can do independently, but there are still some things she needs help with.  Her New Balance sneakers have given her the independence that she is looking for – she can put her sneakers on by herself and even tighten them up without help with the velcro.  These cute little sneakers are just what a young girl needs to give her that extra bit of confidence.  It sounds like a small thing, but really, being able to put your own shoes on is a huge deal.

It goes without saying that she loves her shoes and to be honest, we do too, because her independence also means she doesn’t rely on us as much.  Yes, in some ways it means she’s growing up, which is sad, but at the same time it’s great to watch her grow into a young girl.  It’s very mixed emotions for her dad and I.

I think we may have to get the exact same pair for home so we wont have a fuss at school when she can’t take her favourite shoes home with her.   On the other hand, maybe this is why she likes going to school so much – so she can put on her favourite shoes.  Who knows?

Oh, and one more small thing, right now when you order kids shoes, you also get a pack of Mabel’s Labels – how great is that?

Enjoy!
