Take Some “ME” Time!

by Mommy on August 29, 2012

Hey Moms and Dad’s it’s almost that time, school starts, lunches need to be packed, sports and extra curricular activities take up more time then you even thought you had.  How was your summer?  Did you spend it how you wanted? Did you get those trips in you were hoping for or did you spend it slaving in the house picking up after the all the friends, kids and family you had stopping by the house to visit during the summer months?  This is probably my favrouite part of summer.  Lots of friends, lots of get together’s and lots of food!

A lot of the get together’s happen in my home, and I love it!  It also usually means doing “a bit” of cleaning or last minute scrambling to get the house just right.  Since we just moved in, it’s the first time many people have seen our new home, so I want it to be just so.  (Alright, so my cousin’s wife and son came over Monday night and I really had not done much to the place to have it spick and span, I was exhausted… I can thank Baby for that one).  So, yes even I let things slip sometimes…

There’s no way I can spend my entire day cleaning – forget it! Especially now being pregnant, I am nearly useless around the house.  I’m always exhausted, and I have a 4 year old to chase after.  I feel like I’m frequently running on empty!  But as of late, I have been rewarding myself with some Mom time, cause you know what… I deserve it (and so do you). Usually, I try to sneak in a bit of me time while I use the bathroom, those 2 minutes (if I can get it), with the door closed are heavenly… and if I’m really lucky, I can sneak in a tub.  I will turn on some music so I can’t hear anyone calling my name on the other side of the door! However, as of late, I’ve had some amazing opportunities to do a bit of travel to some fabulous places, Mayan Riviera, and LA for Disney.  This is the time I take to really reward myself.  In the fall and winter however, when things really pick up with activities, I be back to 2 minute bathroom breaks.

(I didn’t think a picture of my bathroom would be as rewarding as this view of the beach)

How do you reward yourself?  Do you take any “ME” time?
