Summer time means parties. Once we flip the calendar to June, each and every weekend is filled with a party. Most are birthday parties for Princess Socialite. Last weekend, it was my cousin’s twins 4th birthday, the place was packed with kids, a bouncy castle and lots of food (my favourite part). There was one dish there that I could have possibly eaten the entire thing by myself, it was an apple dip. (I may or may not have polished it off….)
I had to get the recipe to try it – because guess what, this summer I will have parties that I need to bring yummy (and easy) dishes to.
Here’s the recipe:
- 1 package of Cream Cheese
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- Skor bar
- Granny Smith apples
Mix the cream cheese and brown sugar until it’s smooth. Layer the mixture along the bottom of a plate, topped off with a layer of caramel. Break up the Skor bar into small pieces and sprinkle on Top. Cut apples into bite sized wedges and fan along the outside of the dip. Easy, delicious and looks fancy too.
This weekend, we went to a baby shower, and I made this dish (I also made a small dish for my my own family to share). It was a huge hit. In fact one of the other Mom’s told me she was at a party last weekend and the same mouth watering dip was served there too. (She was not at the same party I was at last weekend,,, just in case you were wondering). It just goes to show how popular this simple to make, mouth watering apple dip is to make. While it may not be the most healthy, there are apples and a little bit of dip can go a long way.
I’m keeping this recipe near by to make for future parties as well.
