As a young child I went to day camp nearly every day in the summer until I was 12 and too old to attend – major sad face. I have so many amazing day camp memories. I actually never went to camp in my own city, I went in the country where the rest of my family lived. Each year when summer would come, I was like the new kid that my friends hadn’t seen in a whole year, so when summer rolled around, it was extremely exciting to see all my friends once again.
Here we are nearly 20 years later and thanks to websites like Facebook, I have been able to catch up with those friends – you all know who you are 🙂 Day camp was absolutely one of my childhood highlights, the games, sleep overs, trips and even the councillors were amazing. I truly hope that each and every child will have the opportunity to have amazing summer camp memories like the ones I have. Day camp gave me a lot of confidence, the ability to build new friendships year after year and rekindle old friendships from years before. Day Camp was by far my favourite way to spend summer vacation. I even had my first boyfriend at day camp – “Hi Marcel” *big waves* …. (wonder if her reads this?!? he’s totally blushing right now, I can see it).
Pioneer Camps and Circle Square Ranch are both Inter-Varsity summer camps. Unlike the camp I attended, these are camps where campers will spend some time away from home – I’m sure my Mom wishes I would have went to a few more of these kinds of camps as a tween. These camps are across central and western Canada and will give you kids some “outdoor adventure, real wilderness and real, old fashioned fun” and “outdoor activities like horse back riding, wilderness hikes, nightly bonfires and thrilling water sports”. Sounds like lots of fun doesn’t it?
Both of these camps have incredible giveaways the whole family will enjoy.
They are Each giving away the following:
