Each year, my family and I drive around the city looking for the best Christmas lights in town. With “Jingle Bells” and other Carols playing in the car, we enjoy each others company as we admire the time people have put into decorating their house for the big event.
Years past, we have driven around aimlessly, going from street to street crossing our fingers to find the best lights in town. Some years were hits, while others were misses. Years ago, Gordie Snow’s house in Fall River was sure to be a hit, bus tours from miles around visited his house to see the spectacle he put on each holiday season. But with his passing, it has left us all scrambling to find a house to match his nostalgia.
Although I highly doubt there will ever be another Gordie Snow, there is a really neat Google Map that pin points all the nicest decorated houses in Halifax and Nova Scotia.
Check out this Interactive Map, get your winter gear on, pack up the kids, grab a hot chocolate and check out the best lit houses. You can add houses you find on your trips around the city as well.
What a great way to see all the best lights!
