Rubbermaid – Glass?

Christmas Gift Idea for the home

Christmas time means lots (and lots) of food… Which also means lots of cooking, lots of serving, lots of clean up, lots of reheating and lots more serving and lots of storage containers between feedings.   It basically means a lot of time spent in the kitchen preparing food! I recently had the opportunity to test out some cooking bowls, serving bowls and storage containers from Rubbermaid. Unlike the classic plastic Rubbermaid containers, these are made from glass, which means they can be easily put in the microwave or the oven straight from the fridge and then served in the same glass bowl right onto the table. Does this mean one bowl from start to finish? Why, yes, yes it does!  Does this mean less prep and less clean up? Why yes, yes it does!

I recently pulled out these Rubbermiad containers for storage after a dinner party.  My company was quick to notice I was not using a plastic container, and asked what type of left over container I was using.  I’m sure I would have never even gotten a second look if my storage bins were the regular plastic.  Needless to say, the food was quickly stored into the containers, and then was place nicely in the fridge with one container on top of another … on top of another with no worry of them tipping over.  They actually look quite dainty in my fridge.

And they also look just as good in the cupboard.  The plastic lids are easily stored stored together and although they do not snap onto the bottom of each container, they fit perfectly underneath.  Although there are many different sized bowls, the lids are interchangeable – so there is rarely any time spent looking for the perfect lid.  (this is my number one pet peeve with storage containers – especially at 7:05 when I am running late for work).

So this Christmas if you are looking for quick and easy way to cook, serve, store, reheat and then serve again then the Rubbermaid Glass with Easy Find Lids will be a welcomed gift you will be thankful for all year!

  3. Glass Containers 🙂 We have one set that we use to store my daughters babyfood but would love to make a full switch to glass.

  4. I love the bento storage boxes, i have three kids and live in an old farm house with NOT ONE CLOSET. Needless to say, storage is an issue.

  5. Would like to have for Christmas

Ornament Storage bags. Looks so easy to
use and helpful to store your Christmas
stuff safe. It is so easy to tell and find
    your decorations.
Also, like the big Rubber made storage containers.
for Christmas presents to bring to Grandma’s house.
    great giveaway too.

  6. I would love glass Rubbermaid containers! I have Pyrex ones, but it’s hard to find them in these small sizes, so I’m excited that Rubbermaid is making them.

  7. I am dreaming about owning a x-large storage shed to park our lawn mower and bikes. It would certainly help me keep my garage clean enough to park my car!

  8. I would love a reveal spray mop! Awesome that I can use whatever cleaners I’d like instead of always buying commercial stuff.

  9. I prefer the glass storage to the plastic. The plastic gets gross in the microwave, even when it’s microwave safe. I need to get more glass ones. I seemed to have dropped one or two…

  10. I would love to have one of the 4-8 Ft Classic Configurations Closet Kits. It’s actually on my Christmas list!
