Banana Republic is one of those stores that I drool over while I pass by. I mostly window shop while I admire all the most stylish clothing, which also come with a higher price tag.
When I heard the announcement that Banana Republic was coming to Dartmouth Crossing in the form of a Factory Outlet, I was pretty excited! it was like winning a mini “Lynette lottery”.
This evening, I had the opportunity to check out The recently opened Banana Republic Factory Outlet on the other side of the bridge. When I entered the store, there were plenty of half off stickers and other discount prices – a sure sign I was going to enjoy this shopping experience.
With winter jackets and puffy vests at 1/2 off, there was a lot of items to choose from. Although we are not even into the winter season just yet (thankfully), there was a lot of winter stock to chose from. In the end I went for a dress that was 40% off the original price – something I would have never bought at full cost, but will wear proudly with the discount I received.
Although I genuinely enjoy the clothing at Banana Republic, the experience fell very short for me. For once, I was able to shop in a store that I throughly enjoy, but the customer service was very poor. Customer service rep after customer service rep passed me by without asking once if I could be helped (or even to say “hi”). At one point my 3 year old daughter had to use the bathroom, after asking the manager if she was able to use the store washroom, we were out right refused and told to go across the street.
Despite the customer service downfall, the clothing and discount prices are what really sell the Banana Republic Factory Outlet!
