Toopy and Binoo Matching Game – Closed

I owe a HUGE thank you to some people that I don’t even know.  You see on Saturday and Sunday mornings, DD seems to get up before the bread man opens his eyes.  So what do you do with a 2 year old that is ready for the day at 5 in the morning and her parents just want at least 1/2 an hour more in bed?  You let her play with your iPhone!  Yes, terrible as it might sound, we let our little girl spend a few minutes of quite time in our bed at 5am and let her watch You Tube.  For 4:31 seconds at a time my husband and I are able to get a bit of shut eye while she is kept entertained.

Anyone want to guess what she’s watching?  Toopy and Binoo, a French Canadian show (also in English), that is about a rat and his mute cat friend.  This is a super clever show that every child I know is in love with.  I haven’t seen anything related to Toopy and Binoo in the stores (thank goodness, because I know DD would want us to purchase everything about them).

We are trying to incorporate family game nights in our home, so when Hasbro contacted me about trying out a number of age appropriate (not MY age – my daughters age) games, I thought it was a great idea.  To my surprise one of the games was a Toopy and Binoo matching game.  I truly did not know that it was coming until I opened the box.  I was so excited to show DD her new game.

Together we played memory, but did have to make a few modifications.  For example, the game comes with 72 different pieces, that is  A LOT of matching, so we broke it down into 3’s.  There are 3 different types of matches to be made with different background colours, so we just use one section at a time.  We also just leave all the memory pieces flipped up right and have fun finding the matching pieces. As she gets older we can make the game a little harder, but for now we enjoy playing the easy version.  We don’t play all the time, but we can get some quite playing time together, this is a great game.

DD is constantly asking for Toopy and Binoo on the laptop or the iPhone, these characters must have some sort of magical touch with anyone 6 and under because they all seem to be enthralled with them.  I was very surprised to see some Toopy and Binoo characters on this type of game.  Thank you Hasbro for recognizing this great Canadian show.
