Eating time is a very interesting part of our day. DD is able to feed herself now and by the end of dinner time, it seems that there is more food on the floor and the table than actually made it into her tummy. Although mealtimes are quite messy, they are actually a lot better than they used to be.
I recently had the opportunity to review a few products from MightyNest, this online and eco-friendly store has all kinds of reusable, all natural and just plain cool items for the whole family. For review we received a set of stainless steel silverware, these are perfect for tiny hands. They are just like adults fork, spoon and knife but are smaller and the knife doesn’t have any “teeth”. DD really enjoys eating with her big girl cutlery, and I appreciate the fact that she likes to use them as well.
We also received the Din Din Stainless Steel Bus Plate. We use this in the evenings when we have a family movie night. Each little area is perfect for Gold fish, apples, and any other treat for a special evening together. I have noticed that kids do not like their food to touch, carrots have to be separated from rice and hot dogs can’t even touch ketchup (they need to be dipped). So this little plate all with individual compartments is perfect for small kids that do not want any of their foods to touch.
The best item that we received for review is the EIO Glass Kids Cup with Silicone Sleeve, 8oz. This is a glass cup, but is completely covered with silicone so there is no need to worry about it breaking. The twist top cover is like an adult travel mug, where there is a small lip for kids to learn to drink from a cup. DD is just about ready to make the full time switch to big girl cups, we are still using sippy cups right now, and the EIO Glass Kids Cup is a great transition cup to get kids used to how liquid comes out of a glass when it’s tipped.
I also had the opportunity to review a product – I got a Mimi the Sardine lunch bag. I had seen these online before, but this is the first time I used one myself. These little lunch bags are adorable, but I don’t find that they are very large. If you bring a small/medium lunch to work, Mimi the Sardine will be just fine. It also isn’t insulated, so if there is anything that needs to remain cold, you’ll have to put your lunch bag in the fridge.
