Just Jen – Winners choice – Closed

Nearly a year and a half ago I had the opportunity to review Just Jen.  I received a Mommy glam  t-shirt and I still wear it every once in a while.  When they asked me if I wanted to review another one of their products I really wanted to get something for our little princess DD.

For review, I requested a DD princess shirt in size 4T in pink and brown (of course).  As you know, DD is 2.5 years old (well, she will be 3 in August).  I thought 4T would be big enough for her, but there is very little growing room left in this shirt.   Despite it being the perfect fit right now, I think she will quickly grow out of this adorable shirt.  If your kids on the bigger size, make sure to get a few sizes up as the clothing at Just Jen runs a little small.

Despite the shirt being a bit on the smaller size, it truly looks adorable on DD.  The rhinestones which spell out her name also have a crown on top of the “G”.  Her name is rather long and the beginning of her name tends to wrap around the sides a bit, but if you have a shorter name (anything less than 9 letters), there should be no problems at all.

What has most surprised me is that after washing these shirts (both mine and hers), the rhinestones always remain on the shirt, not a single one has fallen off.  My black shirt has faded a bit, but not a single rhinestones has moved or fallen off.  Since having my shirt since December 2009, I would have expected at least 1 to fall off, but nope, not a single one!

There are plenty of choices at Just Jen and if none of the choices there suit your needs, you can make your own bling tee with absolutely anything you want.  So get creative (or just go for someone else’s creativity – that’s what I did)

Conair – Infiniti Pro 270 Hair Dryer & You Style 2 in1 Brush – Closed

Last year, I had the opportunity to review the Infiniti Pro by Conair™ Model 270 1875-Watt Salon-Performance AC Motor Styling Tool.  I know that it is a super hair dryer, but after a bit of a reality check I was reminded as to just how good of a hair dryer it actually is!  I have recently been on the road for work, my hobby (blogging) and for vacation.  I have stayed in many different hotels and most have those tiny hair dryers that don’t have enough strength to blow away an ant, let alone actually dry my hair.  Neesless to say, I love my Ion!

I am not the only one that loves the Infiniti Pro Hair Dryer, my mother really likes it too.  She lives with us 5 days a week, and I frequently notice that my hair dryer is missing.  Thankfully, it hasn’t made it’s way too far, it always seems to be in my Mom’s bathroom.

I recently was given the opportunity to review another product from Conair, and I ended up with the brand new Infiniti Pro  Conair Model 270.  Seeing as I already have an awesome Hair Dryer (the “same” one), I thought this one would be best for my Mother.

So this hair Dryer isn’t the exact same model, but it is the same line and works just as good, but there is one major change that I really like (and am considering asking if my Mom might want to make a switch).  The new Infiniti Pro has an adjustable handle and a traveling carrying case – which would be perfect for me – who never seems to be at home for more than 2 weeks at a time.   I would be happy not to have to use the hotel standard hair dryers and bring along the Conair – I just have to convince my Mom that it’s a fair trade (and I think it is).

I also had the chance to review the Conair You Style 2 in1 Brush, and I decided to keep this one for myself.  This brush has the ability to be a straight brush or a round brush.  To change the brush, you just need to push the little button up and lock it in place and there you have it.  I do find it really easy to make the change, but to be honest, I tend to leave it on the straight brush.  I should start using a round brush more often to give myself a little more pouff, but I don’t.   If you are one of those people that go from straight to round brushes, this is sure to cut down on all the hair accessories required to give you a good hair day.

FreckleBox – $40 Gift Card – Closed

I’ve had the opportunity to get plenty of things personalized for DD since I first started my site, she has books, t-shirts, and special Art that has been made just for her.  Having the opportunity to review Frecklebox once again I decided it was time to get something personalized for myself.

Although you may think that the items at FreckleBox are just for kids, I will be the first to let you know that they also carry some adult appropriate items as well.  I got a personalized journal with the Damask pattern on it (you know, that fancy black pattern that was probably in your house in the 70’s), well, it’s back and it’s better than ever.  Aloing with being super fancy, the journal has my name written on the front, just for me, in pink.  The front is also protected with a plastic cover, so I can throw it in my purse (that is where it is located at all times), and it does not get worn out or ruined.

I did get one surprise when I opened the book (and it was a good surprise at that), my name was on the top of each and every page!  So now, when I write a little note, or need to take a page out, I write my info on a super fancy-dancy page that has my name written on it.  (Can you tell I love it?!?).

Alright, despite being super excited to get a little something for myself, I of course am a Mom, so I also had the opportunity to review a few things for Miss DD.  She is now at the age where she can put together a few puzzle pieces, and so I got her the showers and flowers puzzle – just in time for spring.  We work together to get the puzzle done and sometimes she can do it alone, where other times she needs my help.  The puzzle is fairly small, and the pieces are neither small or large, they are just the right size for tiny hands.  I do find that the way the puzzle is cut that nearly any combination will “fit” together, even if the end result looks like a mosaic.  So, when we put the puzzle together we also have to practice matching up the colours, not just the male and female ends.  Although she doesn’t know that the puzzle spells her name just yet, I’m sure in a few years time she will appreciate it.

For some fantastic personalized products, with a lot of variety, for both kids and adults, I highly recommend FreckleBox.

NutriSystem

I’m not really sure what to call this week.  If you are keeping tabs on me, you know that last week I spent about 12 hours in my own home, the rest of the time I was away for work and then out visiting family for Easter.  There were 2 major hurtles to get over this week, one was eating at restaurants and the other was chocolate bunnies.

I was actually very pleased with myself this week.  To be honest, I didn’t eat much of the NutriSystem meals at all, maybe a breakfast and a dinner – that is pretty much it.  Despite not eating any of the NutriSystem meals I managed to make some good food choices, even while eating out!  I ate lots of veggies and lots of fruits, and for breakfast I didn’t over do it with Eggs Benedict or bacon.  I was really good.

On top of that, it was Easter, which means an unending display of chocolate.  I  admit that I did have a chocolate egg or two or three, but once again I tired to make some healthy choices when it came to meal time (between the lobster, turkey, ham and rappie pie), I also tried to load my plate with fruits and veggies.

When it came to weighing in this morning, I was nervous (very nervous), but to my surprise I actually stayed the same weight!  – Can you believe it?  I was so proud of myself, I did it all on my own for a full week and didn’t gain a single pound.  So what this taught me was that once I am officially on my own, I will be able to do it.  NutriSystem has taught me how to eat properly, and really it’s pretty simple, when you want a snack, go for an apple.  When it’s time for dinner load up with veggies.

Despite not being down any weigh this week, I’m really happy that I didn’t gain!

Week 14ish = 0

Total = – 15

Kidorable – Closed

With all the buckets of rain that has been falling on us the last few weeks, there is no doubt that the spring season has arrived.  I should be spending the few sunny days building an ark because there is little doubt in my mind that we will be needing to use it soon.

To help my daughter keep dry, Kidorable sent us a new ballerina themed Rain Coat, Boots and umbrella and they are absolutely adorable.  The coat has a mini tutu at the bottom, the rubber boots have pretend straps and look like ballet slippers and the umbrella has a beautiful “bow” on the top.  This outfit looks like a little ballerina from head to toe. DD wears this complete outfit (even the umbrella) all the time – even on days when it’s not raining and even in the house.  She twirls around just like a little ballerina and looks tremendously fantastic in her outfit.

Although the rain gear is super adorable, I do wish that there was a bit of a lining in the coat.  It is spring after all, and there are still plenty of cooler and rainy days to be had until summer gets here.  Of course we make sure that she has a sweater or something else appropriate to wear under her jacket, but it would be nice if the jacket was lined.  But on a scale from 1 – 10 on cuteness, this gets a 10+ from everyone around.

Puddles Collection has a variety of super creative rain and winter gear for kids.  Each one of the special outfits (fire fighters,  astronauts, fairies) comes complete with matching jackets, boots and umbrella which will make getting dressed for the otherwise undesirable outdoor weather.

This is the 2nd rain gear that I have received from Kidorable, and I hope that DD will stay small enough so she can get 2 good seasons from her ballerina ensemble.  She loves it, we love it and everyone loves it.
