Jillian Michaels: 6 Week Six-Pack & Shred-it with Weights – CLOSED

With new years long gone and resolutions out the door for many, Jillian Michaels has come to the rescue.  Jillian has helped hundreds of people shed weight on the every popular show The Biggest Loser and now you can have her as your personal trainer in your own home.

Here’s a synopsis:

For review, I received Jillian Michaels: 6 Week Six-Pack.  It have been over a year since I last worked out so you can imagine that I am somewhat out of shape.   This DVD combines circuit training, cardio, and a bit of weights (if you want to).  Jillian has 2 friends with hard abs helping her out, one is doing the beginner version, the other is doing the advanced moves.  The video includes a warm up at the beginning and a cool down at the end.

Each move is very achievable (there are no “peacock” moves like in Yoga), but there are plenty of challenging moves that get your heart rate going and work your core.  I started off really easy just doing one circuit.  As time goes on I will move onto level 2, which is more intense and also includes weights and it way more intense.

There is no doubt that if you stick with this for 6 weeks that you will have a beach worthy abs.  I am going to keep at this, but take it a little bit slower.  Maybe only doing 1 circuit a day then bring myself up to doing both and moving onto level 2.  If something is way too hard, it’s easy to give up before even starting.  So, I figure if I take ‘er easy and slowly work myself  up to the harder training, I won’t even realize that it’s getting harder (am I the only one kidding myself?)

Jillian is truly an inspiration, she struggled with her weight at once in her life and look at her now – completely changed.  I’m hoping the same could happen to me – someday.

I am now back on track, I joined a gym and have been working out faithfully and watching what I eat. It is going slowly, but at least it’s going!   6. Mine was to lose 100 pounds this year. I got a headstart (I decided not to wait until NY and started around Halloween) and I’ve already lost over 30 (although I think I gained a couple in the last month, I get weighed tomorrow *sigh*)

  8. It’s not necessarily a New Year’s resolution but my life resolution is to be Fit by 40. I joined weightwatchers online a month or so ago and have lost 15 lbs. so far. I’ve also been working out at least 3 times a week which is a big improvement.

  16. My New Year’s Resolution is to eat the right amount from the four food groups every day.

    So far, I am succeeding for the most part and I already feel healthier.

    I have cancer of the lymph nodes and usually do not have much of an appetite, but I have found that eating smaller, more frequent meals works better for me.

  18. I made resolutions! To re-organize my home, to lose the baby weight (I had a baby in September) and to get better at sending out Birthday cards to friends and family. So far I’ve re-organized my kitchen, basement, livingroom, and bedroom, and I have cards made up for family memebers into the month of April! BUT I still need to lose more wieght! I’ve only lost 5lbs!

  23. I honestly don’t really believe in New Year’s Resolutions; I think too many people think that they need to start Jan. 1st and never falter, and if they do, they feel like failures. Instead, I like to make a list of the goals I want to accomplish that year, and then I work at them on my own time and at my own pace. Last year, for example, I wanted to become a published author and buy my first house. In December, I was able to look back and smile because I had accomplished both of those goals. This year, I want to attend a blogging conference and finish the currently half-finished addition on our house. (At least to the point where it’s habitable!) By setting some important goals and then just working towards them throughout the year, I never have to have that moment of feeling like a failure because I backtracked, faltered or slowed down. After all, I have a whole year to get it done! 🙂

  24. I never make one! There’s no point in making a resolution that you’re probably not going to withhold. So you may as well not make one at all and save yourself from the let down.
    I have the 30day shred and LOVE it. I would love to try these as well to mix things up a bit.
