Step 2 – Deluxe Nursery Center – CLOSED

by Mommy on February 4, 2011

As much as my daughter is a Tom boy, she is also a very loving Mother.  She takes care of all her babies and even her trucks have sat at the dinner table with us to make sure they are fed.  It’s nice to see such a rough and tough little girl have a soft and gentle side with her bears, babies and trucks.

We recently had the opportunity to review the Step 2 Deluxe Nursery Center.  My Mother was the one that was left to put this together.  This was very quick and easy to assemble, there are very few pieces and it only took 5 – 6 screws.  There were a few mixups with the Step 2 instructions, some of the part letters were mixed up on the instructions compared to the actual pieces. However because there are so few items it was very easy to figure out the mistakes and didn’t cause too much trouble while putting it together.  My Mom was able to do it herself (well, she did have the help of an overzealous 2 year old).

The Nursing station includes:

  • changing table
  • feeding station
  • sink with faucet
  • washer
  • storage space
  • a mobile

All the items in the Step 2 – Deluxe Nursery Center are hooked together in 1 station, so it doesn’t take up an abundance of space in all different areas in the home.  DD uses the station to take care of her babies, she changes diapers, cleans her hands and feeds her babies, and even does laundry (it’s good to start them early).  She also places the babies on the change table using it as a bassinet so her babies can nap. It’s amazing that at only 2 years old she knows what each of these items are used for.  We have plenty of blankets, burp cloths and utensils for her to use so she can play “Mommy”.

I do wish that the high chair was not connected to the rest of the station because it would be nice to bring it to the dinner table so DD could feed her babies and eat at the same time.  She’s famous for coming up with as many excuses as possible for not eating.  Her newest excuse is that she has to feed her babies in their high chair (which happens to be in another room).  But then again, it would be more more thing in the kitchen/dinning room to trip over.

I love to watch DD play Mom with all her toys.  Especially because she is generally a rough girl, it’s very nice to see this soft side of her personality.  She enjoys being a Mom and now with the nursing station her dolls have a place to sleep comfortably and safely – they used to sleep on the stairs.  Although she likes to be a Mom, she needs a little bit of practice and education on baby safety.
