Dora the Explorer: Dora’s Ballet Adventures on DVD – CLOSED

Dora the Explorer: Dora’s Ballet Adventures is being released on DVD exclusively at Target (which will soon be coming to Canada – Hurray) on Tuesday, February 20, 2011.

Here’s a synopsis:

Dora’s Ballet Adventure
Dora’s dance class is getting ready for a special dance recital and her whole family’s there to watch her perform. They just need to wait for the Delivery Duck to deliver their ballet slippers. But the Delivery Duck brings scuba flippers instead of ballet slippers! Dora and Boots must get the slippers before the recital begins.

Dora, La Músico
C’mon and join the musical parade! Dora and Boots are leading a parranda over the Piano Bridge and through the Singing Gate to free the instruments that were locked up by the evil Señor Shhh!

The Super Silly Fiesta
Dora and Boots are invited to the Big Red Chicken’s Super Silly Fiesta where there will be silly snacks, silly games, silly hats and even silly dancing. But, the Big Red Chicken lost his party cake! Dora and Boots set off to save the fiesta. After searching forever, they find the cake in the silliest place Big Red Chicken could have left it – on his head!

It’s Boots’ birthday! Dora tells him that all of his friends are waiting at her house to give Boots a big party. To reach Dora’s house, they’ll have to climb a long flight of Stairs and cross the Troll Bridge.

DD really enjoys Dora.  She is now able to understand the interactive (and educational – shhhh) parts to the show.  While she is engaged, she answers back to the TV and points Dora and Boots in the right direction – it’s amazing to watch her grow – what a smarty pants.

This movie is all about music, dancing and parties (something DD is really good at).  She enjoyed the music, songs and dance, and will hum and sing along with her friends throughout the day.  I did notice the first episode, Dora’s Ballet Adventure, has a different Dora voice.  I don’t think DD knew the difference, but both my husband and I questioned if this was the original Dora.

This movie plays over and over again non-stop, so if your kids are major Dora fans, they are going to love this movie.  We can leave it on in the background throughout the day and DD will pop over to catch an episode of 2, which gives me a bit of quiet time.  Needless to say – we love Dora too!

This new Dora DVD will be out February 20th.

  1. The last dance recital I went to was about 20 years ago and it was for my youngest daughter. I would love to put my granddaughter in dance but right now we don’t live close to each other 🙁

  11. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a dance recital. The last party I went to was a birthday party for a six year old at a family fun center called Going Bonkers. Thanks.

  13. It’s been many years as my kids are adults now. I used to be in recitals for my piano. We’re talking MANY years ago. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway

  14. i went to my daughter christmas concert back in december..i loved it ,so cute.

  15. My daughter adores Dora (and I think she has a bit of a crush on Diego!) and dancing, so this movie would be perfect for her. She’s told me she wants to go in ballet, so as soon as the chemo is out of her body (doctors say it can take up to 6 months for her to fully get her balance back!), we’ll put her in dance. Anyways, the last dance party we attended was my nephew’s birthday. My sister played ‘Freeze Dance’ where all the kids had to dance until she turned off the music. Whoever didn’t ‘freeze’ when the music stopped was ‘out.’ Well, the kids had such a blast with this game, that we just kept playing music and dancing up a storm–long after we had run out of prizes for the game! Even the adults were getting into it. It was a riot!

  16. Well my six year old is a little dancer, I go to recitals once a year and get to see a mid year rehersal at Christmas – BUT I sit outside each week and hear her does that count LOL. But if I win this it would go to her Dora mad cousin not her 😉

  17. When my daughters were younger, they were in dance recitals. Now that they are older, they are involved in the theater. The dance lessons definitely helped. I love to watch them dance on stage. This looks like a really cute dvd. Thank you!
