I love having a girl to dress up in fancy clothing and put in pigtails! DD isn’t an easy girl, she has her own mind, thoughts and is extremely determined. I don’t think I have ever met anyone as determined as she is (other than her own mother, so in her defense, she comes by it quite naturally). Nearly everything in our lives comes with a struggle, DD wants things to be her way and I don’t think that a 2 year old should be calling the shots. Thankfully, there is one (maybe 2) things that we both enjoy and agree on – pigtails and ponytails.
DD likes getting her hair done – which is a blessing, because I know many girls don’t like anyone to touch their hair. I’m hoping that his trend will continue as she gets older as well. Since she likes bows, clips and “ponys”, it means that I have to have a lot of options for matching her ever changing outfits (somedays there are 5 different wardrobes, what am I going to do when she is a teenager?).
We’ve recently had the chance to review Bow Allure, an online store run by Mommy Juliet. Specializing in clips, bows, and headbands for little girls, there were lots of options for review products. I went with a bunch of matching hair clips! The clips have a no slip grip, which is perfect for a young girl with fly away, static cling hair.
DD is 2.5 and finally has a decent head of hair, she can wear large clips and it looks normal. I would say these clips are larger than the average toddler clips, the ribbons are very thick and the fancy decals are also rather large. So, I would suggest that these clips be used for a girl with a full head of hair.
Of all the clips that we received for review, our favourite is the matching heart clips. These clips are probably the smallest out of all the ones that we received. Each clip comes with a mini puffy heart with a tiny rhinestone, making them great for this time of year (Valentine’s Day – just in case you are reading this review in July). These little clips really make DD shine. I can tell by the way that she hold’s herself with her hair all done up with her fancy clips that she enjoys showing them off.
I have reviewed many bow and clips in the last 2 years +, and this is the first time that I have come across a company that uses velvet along the clip as a base- how posh. The velvet does add that extra bit of pizazz, although it is subtle, you can tell that there is a soft texture just by looking at the clips from a distance.
Bow Allure has a very wide selection of bows and clips for every little girl. I would personally like to thank them for bringing DD and I together to do something together that we can both agree on. “Thank you!”
