The Ellie – Jeans that support Breast Cancer Patients Giveaway ($119) – CLOSED

I love supporting companies that have a cause.   The latest company that supports Breast Cancer actually sells jeans (whooda thunk?).  Here’s a little blurb about Ellie Jeans from the site, cause I just could never say it so well.

The ellie designer jean is made in the Los Angeles USA and designed specifically to benefit the ellie fund, a non-profit breast cancer foundation that provides free support services each year to more than 600 women and families who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer in Massachusetts.

Isn’t this wonderful?  I sure think so.  I have a dear friend who recently went through Breast Cancer treatment and she was able to benefit from local programs that we have here in Nova Scotia.  It is an extremely stressful time in the life of the  breast cancer patient and their families, to have financial support during this time helps relieve some of the stress.

I recently had the opportunity to review a pair of the Ellie Jeans.  I requested the more curvy Bootcut, ’cause I have a few curves.  I am also only 5′ 2″ tall, and since these jeans fit pretty much all sizes, they were quite a bit long for me.  So, I took them to the mall and got them hemmed.  The Ellie Jeans are very comfortable and flattering around the hips and thighs. I do find however that since I had to cut so much off the bottom that they are large around the cuff.  They are not bell bottoms, but with the ultra skinny jeans in fashion right now, they do look a little large.  I’m sure taller women will not find that the cuff is so large.

The Ellie Jeans are a very dark denim, which I really like.  I wear these to work on casual day, but still look pretty dressed up. They even have a cute little pattern on the bum pockets. (Oh great, this post is totally going to get flagged now that I have mentioned the words Breast and Bum).

My favourite thing about these jeans is that each sale supports a Breast Cancer charity.  Everyone wears jeans, and I am pretty sure we all know someone who has, or is effected by someone who has Breast Cancer.  Although the Ellie Jeans may seems a little pricey at $119, remember that this is an easy way to give back and support a cause that we can all associate with.
