Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles – CLOSED

Do you believe in Miracles?  I sure do.  The biggest miracle that has ever happened in my life is the birth of my daughter.  Sometimes it’s easy to think that there is nothing more to life than what we see, but every once in a while you hear a story that simply is just too much of a coincidence to not believe in miracles.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles is 101 True Stories of Healing, Faith, Divine Intervention, and Answered Prayers! I read a few of these stories and they gave me goosebumps.  The ones that struck me the hardest were the prayers for kids.  I was in tears (anyone surprised?!?) while reading these amazing stories that seem simply impossible – but are very possible if you just have even a little faith.

My Mother read nearly the entire book, and she is a hard core Christian.  She said that nearly all the stories are inspirational, but a few were on the darker side.  However, she was very surprised that the Chicken Soup for the Soul books had such a strong Christian and Godly perspective.  Nearly all the stories were about the power of prayer on a Christian level.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles is great for anyone that needs a pick me up, needs some faith or is already has a lot of faith and loves reading about the power of prayer.

We all recently witnessed a modern day  Miracle – the miners in Chili who were rescued!  For 17 days, they were thought to be dead!  If that isn’t a miracle what is?

  1. There is a book for Teacher’s on the Chicken Soup site. I was thinking it would make a nice gift for a teacher for Christmas. One of my little granddaughter’s is our miracle. Before she was born there were some problems and my daughter was rushed into the hospital to have her monitored. They did a section because they were concerned about the baby’s heart. When she was born her heart was not functioning right. We all did a lot of praying and a week later her heart settled down. She was on heart medication for a year and when she went in for a check up her heart was perfectly normal. She will be 2 in a few months and she is an active little girl and you would never know she struggled that first week of her life.

  2. I love these books! I’d love to read the Christmas Magic or Family Matters ones as I haven’t heard ofthose before!!

  3. I love their books. I see they have a new one out:
Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas Magic
That one would be a great read.

  4. Hi Lynette. I love the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. But wow, there are so many new ones that I didn’t even know about. Not only would I love to read A Book of Miracles, I’d like to read Christmas Magic, Positive Thinking and more. Thanks for sharing such a inspiring giveaway with us.

    Hugs…Tracy 🙂

  5. On the website I found out that they sell: Chicken Soup for the Soul: Teacher Tales — this would make a great teacher gift:) The miracle in my life is that they found my mom’s ovarian cancer so early — usually they don’t find this type of cancer until it’s too late. It was a complete miracle that they found it and now she is on the road to recovery:) Thanks for the chance to win.

  6. Whenever I see a baby,MIRACLE is the word I think of every single time.:)

  8. I thought the Chicken Soup:Christmas Magic book looked good.My hubby was hurt by a mine while serving with the military and they could never figure out how he only had back and knee injuries.I say that was our miracle.

  9. There a book there just for “DADS” and many others as well. Mircles I guess I am in miricle to be alive or maybe better stated … God gave me a few more years to live. Teenager, bald tires, country road, driving to fast … add up to one bad wreck. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  11. My miracle is my daughter Emma. She was born 13 weeks early and was 2 pounds and 14 inches. After much praying and 77 days in our childrens’ hospital Emma is now a busy little 30 pounder who will soon be 3. She has no signs of any issues from being born so prematurely and we are so thankful to God for this.

  13. I saw the book ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul: What I Learned from the Cat’ on their site. It looks sounds really cute.

A miracle of my own would be my whole life. I was never supposed to live passed the of 8. Well I’m now 24 and still fighting for 80. =)

  14. I saw that they have a christmas magic book.I can just imagine curling up by the fireplace with my own litle miracles( my son and daughter) and reading it together.

  15. I would love to read Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas Magic on their site and my children are my miracles.

  16. I love these books!! I found out they have a book with Christmas memories. Four babies in my family were born weighing between 2 and 3 lbs. It is a miracle they survived and have caught up with children their age.

  17. Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive would be great to read on a bad day. Heidi, my rescue dog is my little miracle, adopted three weeks after my beloved dog died after 13 years suddenly. Heidi needed us as much as we needed her. She helped me lose an additional thirty pounds by walking her daily.

  18. I saw Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tales of Christmas. It sounds very interesting. Our miracle is our daughter. We had been trying to have a child for two years and finally it happened. She is now seventeen.
