Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles – CLOSED

by Mommy on October 14, 2010

Do you believe in Miracles?  I sure do.  The biggest miracle that has ever happened in my life is the birth of my daughter.  Sometimes it’s easy to think that there is nothing more to life than what we see, but every once in a while you hear a story that simply is just too much of a coincidence to not believe in miracles.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles is 101 True Stories of Healing, Faith, Divine Intervention, and Answered Prayers! I read a few of these stories and they gave me goosebumps.  The ones that struck me the hardest were the prayers for kids.  I was in tears (anyone surprised?!?) while reading these amazing stories that seem simply impossible – but are very possible if you just have even a little faith.

My Mother read nearly the entire book, and she is a hard core Christian.  She said that nearly all the stories are inspirational, but a few were on the darker side.  However, she was very surprised that the Chicken Soup for the Soul books had such a strong Christian and Godly perspective.  Nearly all the stories were about the power of prayer on a Christian level.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles is great for anyone that needs a pick me up, needs some faith or is already has a lot of faith and loves reading about the power of prayer.

We all recently witnessed a modern day  Miracle – the miners in Chili who were rescued!  For 17 days, they were thought to be dead!  If that isn’t a miracle what is?

I love these books!! I found out they have a book with Christmas memories. Four babies in my family were born weighing between 2 and 3 lbs. It is a miracle they survived and have caught up with children their age.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Think Positive would be great to read on a bad day. Heidi, my rescue dog is my little miracle, adopted three weeks after my beloved dog died after 13 years suddenly. Heidi needed us as much as we needed her. She helped me lose an additional thirty pounds by walking her daily.

I saw Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tales of Christmas. It sounds very interesting. Our miracle is our daughter. We had been trying to have a child for two years and finally it happened. She is now seventeen.
