Chicken Soup for the Soul: Runners (2 Winners) – CLOSED

I am not a runner.  I’ve tried it before (once or twice or maybe even 10 times), but it just doesn’t seem to work for me.  I have a girl friend who is a crazy runner, and she looks fabulous, not just on the outside but on the inside too.  There is more to running than just the physical advantages, the exercise also helps the inner self as well.

I recently received the new Chicken Soup for the Soul: Runners Edition book.  This is 101 Inspirational stories of Energy, Endurance and Endorphines.  After reading a few of the short stories, I am so inspired to start running.  Some of the runners are just like me, a busy Mom and yet the find the time (nearly everyday) to get outside and run.  And not just run around the block, some of these Mom’s are running marathons.

I admire runners (especially my good friend), they always find time to run and the seem to love it.  As a non-runner, I never really understood what or why people enjoyed getting up before the crack of dawn to get sweaty all before they head off to work, but after reading some of the stories in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Runners I get it.  If you have a runner in your life, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Runners will help you understand that running is more than just running, it’s about stress relief, feeling good about themselves and in many cases, friendships.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Runners is the perfect gift for any runner.  I will be handing mine off to my lovely running friend.  I might even ask her if I can tag a long sometime with her on one of her runs.  Although I know we would spend 1/2 the run, walking, she’d do it with me, cause that’s just the type of person she is.

I love running, and I am showing my 20 month daughter the importance of running already! =) It can be tough to start but its well worth it. =)

  3. Checked out the website and am amazed at how many Chicken Soup books that have been written. I was a jogger years ago. This book interests me. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.
