Playhouse Disney – DVD and Gift Pack – CLOSED

Remember getting up early for Saturday Morning cartoons as a kid?  As odd as it might sound, there are still  some cartoons that I like to get up for on Saturday morning (and they are on Sunday morning too).  Every Saturday and Sunday morning at 8am, the family channel plays some Playhouse Disney shows.  Unfortunately, we do not have the Playhouse Disney channel, but the Family channel has some of the most popular Playhouse Disney shows on first thing in the morning.

My daughter has 2 favourites.  The first is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  This show is awesome (I even think so).  It’s simple, it’s fun and it engages my daughter.  She learns simple things like counting and colours.  The best part about the show is the Hotdog Song!  I even play this song on Youtube for my daughter.  She dances just like Goofy, Mickey, Minnie and Donald.  Her arms wave around and her feet swing from side to side.  I even get up and dance with her.  I can always count on this show to entertain her and it’s very kid friendly.

The other show that my daughter enjoys by Playhouse Disney is Handy Manny, also known as Hanny Manny in my house (I even call him this).  My daughter screams out “Hanny Manny” over and over and over again!  I love all the clever names for Handy Manny’s tools.  Each show has a little project that needs to be fixed and Manny along with his tools always work together to get it done.  Each tool has a different function.  It teaches children about problem solving and team work – how can you not love it?!?

I wish we had the full Playhouse Disney Channel.  However, the family channel has many of the same shows first thing in the morning and there are no commercials (other than those silly little monkeys).  I feel comfortable with my daughter watching the Playhouse Disney shows and I enjoy them with her.

The Playhouse Disney Channel also has a great safe website with lots of fun games, activities and music.
