Noko – Dress (~$86) – CLOSED

by Mommy on July 20, 2010

My family and I recently went to the local zoo, it’s nothing fantastic, but for a girl who is not quite 2, it was really impressive.  I always hum and haw about what to dress my daughter in when we go to special outings like this, I like her to look her best, but also want her to be able to have fun.  The day we went to the zoo it was nearly 30 degrees Celsius, so I knew I had to put her in something that would be nice and cool.  I recently received a Japanese inspired dress for review from Noko Baby, and decided that this was a great opportunity to test out this little number.

The dress that I received is called Futaba berry.  It’s a berry pink dress with pink and orange patterned deep v-neck and does not have any sleeves – perfect for those nice warm days, or with a cardigan.  The dress is made with 100% light cotton and is lined so it is not see through.  The dress also comes with a matching pair of orange bloomers.  I thought the pink and orange would be an odd colour combo, but it looks amazing on my daughter.  There are also some very feminine buttons in the back – they are a little finicky to do up, but once the dress is on the buttons in the back look very posh.

What I was most impressed about this  Noko Baby dress is that after going to the zoo we my daughter played at the park for about an hour.  She was quite dirty by the time the trip was over, but the dress surprisingly took to the dirt quite well.  I just dusted her off and she was ready to go, and looked brand new again.  It didn’t even look like I needed to throw the dress in the wash – but I did.  I didn’t notice any shirking with the wash, and the sizing is generous.  I received a dress in 2T and it fits my rather larger 23 month old just fine with some growing room.

This dress received a lot of compliments on our day at the zoo, and any other day that my daughter has worn it.  It is so bright and fun and obvious that it comes from a specialty store/designer.   I love dressing my daughter up in nice and fancy things, but often worry about her getting them dirty or ruining them.  The dress that I received from Noko Baby passed the fancy, fun and durable test that my daughter puts it through every time she wears it.
