Dav – Rubber Boots & Matching Umbrella (~$127) – CLOSED

I dislike rain nearly just as much as I dislike winter. If I could pick my perfect day, it would be mid to high twenties with no wind and no clouds. I love the sun and warm weather. But living in Nova Scotia, I am not always fortunate enough to get these perfect days (in fact, I may only get about 20 days like that in a full year). For the other 345 days of the year, I have to make a sacrifice to enjoy the day. I have found one (well maybe 2) things that have made rainy days more enjoyable – the products that I received from Dav.

Dav is a new rain boot and accessory collection that makes rainy and dreary days, fun again! For review I received the most fun pair of rain boots and matching umbrella. The rain boots, which are called Fashion Raindrop Bubblegum, are a mixture of light and dark pink and purple. The Dav rain boots have something very unique that I have never seen before in a pair of rain boots – they have 2 inch rubber heel. This is one aspect that really had people talking around the office.

I was really excited for the first rainy day that I could wear my Dav boots to work. As soon as I made my way to the door I had everyone around the front desk talking about my boots. (I was wearing a white skirt, with high heeled rain boots that are pink and purple - what else did I expect?!?) Everyone was in love with my boots. Another aspect next to the heels that people really liked was the fact that the rubber boots also had a zipper – many rain boots do not have this feature. It makes putting on and taking off the boots very easy.

One question that a co-worker did ask me was if the boots were breathable. I did not have any problems with my feet sweating or sticking, however I have very dry feet and could wear the same socks for weeks (I know this sounds gross, but my feet do not sweat or smell – although I still change my socks daily). So, to be fair i can’t promise that these do breathe as my feet are not really a good test. Although I will let you know that my bare feet were not cold at all while wearing the boots in the rain.

I love my new rain boots, it did take some getting used to wearing them, as it was my first time wearing rubber boots with a heel.

I also received the matching umbrella from Dav. This umbrella is very compact and fits into my Miche purse, which is a smaller purse. The umbrella is good quality and managed not to flip inside out while in the rain. I did find it a little bit difficult to close the umbrella. This is because it’s so compact that I really need to push it down far and tight to get it so small.

Despite not liking the rain, I really look forward to rainy days so I can sport my new Dav accessories. I really feel like a million bucks wearing my new high heeled rain boots and matching umbrella. I have even worn the boots on days when the forecast calls for rain – just in case! I do not want to be caught in the rain without my new boots.
