For review from CSN stores, I decided on a product that my daughter can enjoy outside now that summer is here, the Radio Flyer Pink Trike.

When the Trike came to the door, my daughter was too excited to wait for us to get home to set it up (again). So this is another thing that my Mother had the liberty of putting together. This time, thankfully she took pictures while it was being assembled. She had no problems at all as the instructions were very straight forward and simple to follow. She did get lots of “help” from DD and was still able to put it together.

My Mom did take a lot of pictures putting it together, so I thought I would share the progression with all of you.

Once we got home and saw our daughter pushing herself around the house, we did notice that there was a bit of a clicking noise with the peddles. It turns out they were put on backwards. It was very simple for my husband to flip them around. However, the clicking noise didn’t exactly stop. If we are pushing her around on her bike and she doesn’t peddle her feet, the clicking noise remains. Although she can reach her feet onto the peddles, she isn’t able to push herself around quite yet. This is where the handy dandy adult adult handle really makes this trike easy for us old folk parents. Rather than having to bend over (God forbid) to push our daughter around, we can stand straight up and just push her with the handle. Not only it is used for pushing, but also steering. This is the BEST feature of this bike, the ability to steer the front wheel by the handle. I have found that it’s not quite as receptive as a steering wheel in a car, but once used a number of times, you get used to how to use it.

This bike is awesome for walks, however I have been finding it hard to get my daughter to use a helmet, so we are not too successful at using it outside very often. I’m not sure why I let her use it inside without a helmet, I guess I’m not worried about hills or going too fast around the house, because there are really too many obstacles in the house to go fast. However, when we have been able to fight through the bloody murder crying to get the helmet on her, it has been very nice to push her around the neighbourhood in her new pink trike.

My daughter’s favourite feature about the bike is the bell. It’s simple little bell that just has a little plastic piece that needs to pushed down with the thumb and bounces back up to hit the bell. While using the bike (inside or out), my daughter is constantly hitting the little bell.
