I have a very hard time finding clothes to fit properly. When I do wear something that is a little form fitting people always say something like “Wow, you look great, you have lost a lot of weight”. Here’s the thing, I may have lost a few pounds but the real problem is I have such a difficult time finding anything to fit. If you have read my Bravado review, you will know why I have such a hard time finding clothes to fit. Most of my t-shirts end up being too short and hit me directly at the waist (not flattering at all), and are so tight in the chest, it just looks terrible.
The interesting thing about finding clothes that fit (or don’t fit), is that it seems that I am not the only person to have this problem. The other day at the office, all the women were talking about how clothes just do not fit! Looking at the figures that some of the ladies had I thought they would have no problem finding clothes. One lady is very thin – but super tall, so all her pants are too short, the other looks completely average all around, but it turns out she has a long torso and short legs, so her shirts are short and pants are long. I could go on and on about all the problems, but the over all consensus was none of us can buy clothes off the shelf that fit perfectly and really compliment our figure. In a way, it was very comforting to know that all these women were feeling my pain (although in different ways), but at the same time it concerned me that clothes off the shelf don’t seem to fit anyone. I suppose that manufacturers make clothes to fit the average person, but if the 5 us weren’t average, who is the average person?
So, where am I going with all of this? So glad you asked! I wanted to let you all know that I found a store with real clothes for real women – yes that right – clothing that REALLY fit! The store is eShakti, and for review, I received a a black dress. There is no words to describe how scared I was to order a dress online. I have had 2 dresses that fit me properly since my tween days, the first is my prom dress and the second is my wedding gown. Both dresses were custom made to fit me and I absolutely loved both of them because they really fit.
During the check out process at eShakti there is a personalization section where I was able to input my measurements. I was doubtful that this section was really that important, and that the company simply wanted measurements to make sure that the size selection chosen was going to fit me. They would then pick an already made dress off the shelf and send it in the mail – OH SO WRONG! As soon as the dress came in the mail, I put it on right away, sill skeptical – I stepped into the dress and zipped up the side zipper with ease and my eyes popped to see me – LYNETTE, in a dress that actually fits properly. Yes, that’s right I have a dress in a size 8, with a chest that accommodates size 2 – 3 xl, and there is no squeezing, squishing or popping out at all. This dress fits me! I actually have a waist in a dress – this is HUGE !
I guess taking the time to properly fill out the sizing form was worth it. I completely love the eShakti dress and have worn it to work and have received so many wonderful compliments. It makes me feel confidant to wear something that fits me and shows off my post baby figure – which isn’t too shabby! I actually plan on wearing this classic black dress with a few white flowers along the skirt to my cousins wedding this summer, it will be perfect. I usually wear this with a little cardigan. Just last week I wore it for the first time sleeveless and I did notice that the side zipper rubbed against the inside of my arm a little. Nothing too extreme, just something worth noting.
As you can probably tell, I am very, very, very pleased with the dress that I received from eShakti, and I am convinced that if they can make something to fit me this well, they can make something to fit anyone. Their slogan is “We design. You customize” and they have made more than a believer out of me. Thank you eShakti.
