My Storytime Friends (~$40) – Closed

It’s only recently that my daughter will sit with me so I can read her a story.  Trying to read to her  before this last month has been terribly difficult, so I am thrilled that she will sit long enough so I can read at least a few pages of a book to her.  I recently received My Storytime Friends for review.  This book and plush toy combo is meant for children 3+, but I think as soon as kids are ready to sit and listen to a story, this package will make them happy.

My Storytime Friends comes with a soft bear.  We received Coffee, he is dark brown and sits about 9″ high.  My daughter also just recently started taking a liking to toys – only since she started sleeping through the night (although this isn’t as consistent as I would hope).  So Coffee’s size makes him a good candidate for sleeping with at night and carrying around the house throughout the day.

The book that we received is called A Winning Dream written by Andrew Wolfendon and illustrated by Berne Williams.  This is the first book in a series that currently has 4 books available.  The story is about Brady Bear, a bear that loves to run, but isn’t very good at it.  He ends up finding a sport that he is really good at, and in his first race he gives up first place to help save a Little Bear that ends up in danger.   This incident leads to Brady Bears career. The story is a feel good tale about thinking about others before yourself, and has a morale at the end: “Your dreams don’t always take you exactly where you think they will.  But that’s okay… they take you somewhere even better!”

My Storytime Friends also has some online capabilities.  Each bear comes with a unique code that is entered onto the My Storytime Friends website.  There you can download, print or order more story books, download and print coloring books (at the library), or send your bear an email (at the post office).  There is also an interactive flip book, which is read out loud for your children and every time the page flips it sounds like a real page flipping – just to make things seem like your child is right there reading the story.

I have to admit I like the online book because my daughter can not rip out the pages.  But, if you child prefers a hard copy, they are available to purchase for only $10.95, but there is also promotions where My Storytime Friends members can receive free hard cover books.

My Storytime Friends is a simple interactive toy and book combo that the young-ins will enjoy!

  1. I like that the kids can interact with the characters…I have seen sights like this before but they were always geared to older kids. This is great!

  2. I was disappointed that you couldn’t explore their website without registering/becoming a member. They might want to reconsider being so restrictive since not everyone (including me) wants to give out their information just to browse a site!

  3. I learned that kids can interact with characters from the stories by sending and receiving mail through the Post Office.

  19. This is so great – we have been reading to my Grandson since he was a month old. Since he’s gotten a little older (2 1/2 now) I always TRY to find a toy that goes w/a character in each book. Keeps him interested and it’s something tangible, helps him relate to the story when he can hold something from the story…and this Company does just that! Makes it easy, since it all comes together. Love the website, it’s cool that you can make it all interactive too. He would LOVE to receive this, sure would love to win it for him!!!

  31. Is this My Storytime Friends out of business? My mom just got the bear and the book (the same one you mentioned above) for my daughter…I tried the website and it just doesn’t load. Cute idea, but I guess it didn’t work out. Let me know if I am just missing something in typing in the address. Your link doesn’t work either.
