Fall in Love with MWVI have a confession to make…get ready to gasp. I wore the same nursing bra for almost nine months after giving birth. As I type this I am shocked by this, mostly because pre-pregnancy I loved bras; I have white bras, black bras, pink bras, lacy, push up, strapless, you name it, I have it. Sadly, I used the same ugly, frumpy bra day in and day out for a variety of reasons. Firstly, I stayed in pjs for most of the first three of those months , secondly I think I was completely unprepared for how un-sexy I felt after wards (probably didn’t help that I was in pjs all day), how quickly the time goes and lastly how little time I actually had to shop for myself. I was still 20 lbs (at least) heavier and I just assumed “nursing bra” and “ugly” were one and the same.

Fast forward to almost 11 months later and 35 of my 40 preggo pounds gone and I am starting to get my grove back thanks to Bella Materna. It’s incredibly well made, the straps are really easy to adjust (I can do it with one hand) and it’s basically like a regular bra  except  that the front flips down when I want to nurse.  It has several hooks in the back to adjust for size and as I lose a wee bit more weight, the bra will continue to fit. Yipee… I was initially concerned that it would be too much like a regular bra because it has padding and an under wire, but I am happy to say there is just enough padding to hide the nursing pads (is their anything uglier than pad lines?) and the under-wire gives some support where sadly there is not much support these days on their own. Lactation consultant approved, patented ‘Flexy Wires’ under-wires allow easy flow for milk ducts, and comfort all day long. It’s so nice to have cleavage again.
