I am not normally a Valentine’s Day gal.  In fact, I had already put a kybosh on the big love day when I met my husband some fifteen years ago.  No political reason, just that I was tired, tired, tired of shopping and being shopped for.  I did not want the usual flowers or the same gifts that were being given out to every other valentine on the exact same day; it kind of lost its appeal.  It remains a point of contention with my husband, who gives me an anti-valentine every year in protest.

There are a few things that I feel I must share with you: I was not expecting to be “touched” when I received my “Darling Ovals” necklace, all in sterling silver.  The fact that I was misty eyed and silent should speak to how much I loved the necklace from the moment I opened the package.  Speaking of the package, my custom necklace was lovingly placed in a small metal box that was laced with pink tissue paper and then tied with a pink ribbon.  I mention this detail because I think it speaks to the care of the product; nobody who cuts a piece of tissue paper that size is going to be cranky when making your custom jewellery.  You can even get a hand stamped tag for your gift.  The necklace is furnished with three small ovals, each with a name hand stamped on one side and a symbol under the name.  The ovals are no larger than the nail on my small finger, making it a perfect day-to-day piece.
