Animal Friends DVD – CLOSED

My daughter likes to watch a little bit of TV, although I don’t really allow her to watch too much.  As she gets older I’m sure she is going to want to watch more and more television.  There are a few things about tv that scare me – I’m sure many of you have the same fears.  Although I know more children’s shows are safe, you just never know what is going to come on after the children’s show is on, and the worst part, is the commercials.  It’s amazing that children friendly shows can have some not so child friendly commercials.

When I received Animal Friends for review, it was a relief to have a number of age appropriate shows all on one DVD – with no commercials in between and no need to worry about what show will be on afterwards.  Each episode from the Animal Friends DVD has a different Nickelodeon Jr. show with an animal theme.

The Animal Friends DVD  include:

Dora the Explorer – The  episode is “ABC Animals”, Jump into a big ABC book with Dora and Boots to help an Armadillo find all the missing animals of the alphabet” This episode teaches children the alphabet and animals that start with each letter of the alphabet.

Go, Diego, Go! – This Episode is called “Diego and Alicia save the Otters” The Bobo Brothers’ giant waves in the river separate Oscar ad Oli, brother and sister River Otters.  Diego and Alicia need your help to reunite them.

Wonder Pets! – The episodes are called  ”Save the Swan” and “Save the Puppy” The team travels to Swan Lake to get a shy Baby swan dancing.  Then they lead the way out of a locked house to help a puppy go pee-pee.

Yo Gabba Gabba! – The episode is called “Animals” Dance to the beat as you follow tracks, listen to sounds, and explore all kinds od animals in Gabba land.

Blue’s Clues – This episode is called “animal Behavior” Blue and Steve are exploring all kids of interesting animals, but what animal does Blue want to learn about now?  Help Steve in a really wild game of Blue’s Clues!”

Ni Hao, Kai-lan – The episode is “Safari Pals” Rintoo becomes jelous of Stompy the elephant because he’s so big.  It’s up to Kai-lan to show him that there’s something special about everyone!

There you have it 6 of your toddlers favourite cartoons, all in one spot.  The DVD  automatically plays from one show to the next with no interruptions in between.   My favourite is Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go!  For the Spanish and English exposure, and I also like the songs in Wonder Pets!  My daughter doesn’t yet have a favourite, as long as there is music to listen to, she is happy.  DJ Lance in Yo Gabba Gabba always has some really good dance music, so she tends pay a little bit more attention to this show as she grooves to the beats.

Animal Friends is a great addition to any video library and will keep your little one entertained for 147 minutes with all their favourite Nick Jr. shows!  It came out on DVD on September 15th, 2009
