I have had one item come to me and it just fell apart, I let them know and they replaced it immediately. I believe in doing the same thing, letting the company decide if they want a review posted if you don’t believe in the product. I don’t post negative reviews either, I would let the company know I couldn’t say positive things and offer to return their product (at their expense)

I write the reviews as nicely as I can, but I won’t give kudos for something I don’t like. I haven’t come across a review that I couldn’t do yet. But I think I would give them a choice. Thanks for giving me something to think about.

Thanks for being honest in your reviews! I think you’re doing the right thing by telling the company when you don’t like a product and letting them decide if you should still post a review. I appreciate honest reviews (and thanks for sharing your process)!

Thanks for the post. I don’t blog, but this is always of interest to me to see how people write their reviews. I like your approach and would do the same. If it would be a negative review, giving the company a first chance to say ‘no thanks’ to the review is a nice option. I try to follow blogs that I trust the opinions posted, otherwise what’s the point in reading the reviews

Great advice. But I have not been contacted to review products and plan on reviewing products that I have bought. Do you suggest giving my honest opinion on these products?

Great info, I’ve been asked the same question numerous times. I do the same as you. I only post reviews on products I would purchase or would want my family/friends to purchase, if a product is not up to par for myself I’ll not write the review, I don’t want to give highlights to products which don’t deserve it. However I have written negative reviews in the past if there’s something I really believe the consumer must know about. If there are small issues with products I will include that in the reviews I write as well.

It is great info. It sucks that you lost to the one company. But they also have to realize they have a faulty product that they should fix it and that you were giving them your feedback of what you thought.
Most cases i can see why a company would not want negative feedback on a blog as it would not be good for them. Positive isalways good but they need to hear what peoples thoughts are negative or positive to make products good.
