Kim’s Crafty Apple – $30 Gift Certificate – CLOSED

by tara on October 30, 2009

As much as I enjoyed growing up in the 80′s, sometimes I think I was born a few decades too late. I think I am a wee bit of a peace, loving groovy kind of woman at heart. Groovy…what a word. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear words like groovy? Is it the peace symbol, the anti-war demonstrations or is it all things tie-dyed? Maybe a combination of all three, I think anything tie- dyed has a feeling of warmth, nostalgia, and a bit of “groovy”ness all around. Not sure if groovyness is a word, but its how I feel when I see anything tie-dyed and I love feeling groovy.

I received for review a short sleeved blue and green tie-dyed onesise size 9-12 months from KimsCrafyApple shop on Etsy. I’ve only recently discovered Etsy and I think I am becoming addicted to this wonderful website to buy and sell all things handmade.

Each of KimsCrafyApples onesies are hand dyed so you can be sure you have a one of a kind piece. Kim has several colors and icons available in her shop; butterflies, alligators and an adorable Christmas holiday collection. Ours has a cute little pelican on the front, has double stitching around the generous neck opening, the sleeves and all around the leg area. Its a perfect fit, our dude is 8 months now and is 24 lbs and it fits great. Often 9-12 month clothes are really snug as we cloth diaper but this onesie fits really well. I was initially a bit worried about washing the onesie  with my other clothes. No need to worry, I’ve worn and washed this many, many times and its still like new. It’s made of 100% combed cotton and has really kept its shape. Another pet peeve of mine, clothes that start out looking super crisp only to fade and get out of shape the more you wear them and then you don’t want to wear them anymore. Not so, KimsCrafyApple onesies has  not disappointed. It has kept its shape, color and does not look worn.

Kim is a stay at home mom of two little girls. Always considered to be a crafty woman who preferred to make rather than buy, KimsCrafyApple Etsy shop began in Feb of 2008. I used to think I was sort of crafty; I scrapbook, I used to know how to knit, I’ve once made an apron and I can do embroidery, but my meager talents are nothing compared to Kim. Take a peek on her Etsy store and you’ll find the definition of  talent; she has over 160 handmade items.

kimsIn her store, you’ll find a beautiful collection of totes, some really cute childrens aprons, holiday decorations and the most amazing and colorful quilts for babes and their moms  I’ve seen in a long time. I can only imagine the time it takes to makes one of these exquisite creations. All I can say is wow, KimsCrafyApples has a wee bit of everything for the craft lover in us.
