I have been a fan of Dora since I first saw the Spanish/English cartoon. I went to Mexico to study Spanish a few years ago, so watching Dora helps to bring back some of those old Spanish words I have forgotten over the years. Another thing I am a fan of is Christmas! I love sining all the Christmas Carols during the holidays, I can listen to the same Christmas CD over and over again – much to my husbands dismay. When I received, Dora’s Christmas CD for review, I was very excited to put my two loves together – Spanish and Christmas Carols.
The Dora Christmas CD includes all the popular Carols such as Deck The Halls and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, but it has some added verses and some changed words to include Dora and her friends Boots, Tico and Swiper in the songs. I like the CD because it has a Spanish flair to is as well, many of the classic Carols have maracas and trumpets. The Christmas Carols also have some Spanish words added in, so I get my practice! With a young toddler at home, I want her to get to know all of these popular Christmas Carols, but I don’t think she is ready (or willing) to hear the tunes sung by Elvis just yet (although this is my favourite). So The Dora Christmas CD is an excellent way to put Carols on, and keep us all happy.
The Dora CD also comes with a few original tracks at the end including No Swiping On Christmas, a funny song about Swiper. The songs are from an up and coming TV special called “Dora’s Christmas Adventure” which will be out on November 3rd.

I love so many Christmas carols! Christian are my fave – Adeste Fideles. I love Elvis too – that one Christmas album is SO good…forget the name.. I love Kenny G’s christmas cd. Another favorite is I’ll be Home for Christmas.
