Mickey’s Christmas Carol DVD – CLOSED

by Mommy on September 29, 2009

walt-disney

I am all about the Holiday classics, and since I have been a young girl, I have know about the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.  Scrooged is a holiday classic that makes it’s way into everyone’s home.  Mickey’s Christmas Carol is a rendition of the holiday classic with Mickey Mouse as Bob Cratchit and Scrooge McDuck as Ebeneezer Scrooge.  Poor Mickey works for pennies everyday to take care of his family and is happier than Scrooge McDuck that has a bank full of money.  This cartoon version of a holiday favourite makes me all warm inside when Scrooge McDuck realizes what the season of Christmas is all about.  As the old saying goes, it is better to give than receive.   Although we think money is what brings us happiness, we learn that family and friends are what bring warmth to our hearts.

mickeys-christmas-carolTo celebrate the Holiday Season, Walt Disney Home Studios Entertainment is bringing this holiday classic back out on DVD with 3 other holiday tales including, “Pluto’s Christmas Tree”, “The Small One”, and “Santa’s Workshop” which is available in English, French and English subtitles.  The DVD also comes with a collectible lithograph print.

My family and I enjoy the Mickey’s Christmas Carol as much if not more than any of the Scrooged movies.  The movie sends the same positive message, but in a way that the whole family can enjoy – and isn’t this the way you want to enjoy a holiday classic? With the whole family?

Giveaway: Walt Disney Home Studio Entertainment would like to offer a lucky My Wee View reader a Mickey’s Christmas Carol DVD

The most important part of the holidays is being able to gather all of our children and grandchildren to our home to spend some time together, whether it’s right before the actual holiday or right after (so our children can accommodate their spouses’parents request to get together) so they can relax, not have to worry about preparing meals, and I can spoil them for a day or two or three:) Family is everything to me:)

The most important part about the holidays to me is celebrating the birth of Jesus. I love seeing my kids (3 and 5) talk and sing about the birth of our Saviour. I also take the kids to the dollar store and let them buy gifts for all the family members. They love picking things out and wrapping them themselves too! It’s important to me to encourage the giving part of Christmas.

The most important part of the Holidays in our house is spending time together, with family outside our immediate family. We don’t get to see them nearly enough and time is invaluable.

The most important part of the holidays for us is people. We try getting together with as much of our family as possible. We try and visit everyone and often bring a little gift basket of food for them. We often donate fairly substantial quantities of food and toys to the food bank at this time as well because, although we’re young and not terribly well off, we have been blessed with good jobs and wonderful family and not everyone has been so lucky. We also are regulars at church, but we try and stay balanced and teach our son both the meaning of Christmas and what he can do now to help those less fortunate.

We went to disneyworld this summer, my daughter was 3, and she was in heaven! Now with Christmas coming she is as excited as she was then. Put the two together and she has a permanent smile. Seeing my children having a great time and happy as can be on Christmas is priceless!

It would of course be the big family dinner! The time when all of our family and other family friends would gather together and enjoy a delicious meal (even if it’s not actually that delicious that year). And then after the dinner there would be just some warm family time chatting, singing, or playing games :)

Helena Kyriakou October 4, 2009 at 6:59 am

The most important part of the holidays at my house is seeing the family and have my grandmother stay with us. She lives pretty far away so having her around for the holidays is a great part of the holidays. Also, seeing my little cat play with the wrapping paper is quite cute and fun too.

The most important part of the holidays in our home has nothing to do with the commercial aspect (gifts). Just being with my sisters & brothers and their families with my own family is what matters. It it so good to laugh with them while going down memory lane and also see how our children are growing so fast. We love enjoying big delicious meals that we all help to make.

The most important thing about the holidays is being with your family and showing the ones you love that you care. But also giving to those less fortunate and showing them that someone, somewhere, cares about them.

Sonya October 6, 2009 at 9:26 pm

Celebrating the true meaning of Christ-mas! :) Although spending all that time with my family is very important as well. ;)

My family loves Mickey’s Christmas Carol, but we’ve never seen these other ones! :) We are big movie watchers at Christmas, this would be great to add to our collection!
