I’ve used many different vacuums in my day, but none – and I mean not 1 compare the the Dyson DC 24. Last year my husband and I jumped on the bandwagon and bought a bagless vacuum with the cyclone type canister to hold all the dust. Our house has a little bit of carpet, but the main floor is hardwood and ceramic tiles, so we thought we wouldn’t spend too much money on a vacuum, because they all do the same thing right? We even went a little bit overboard, and bought a vacuum that is meant for shedding pets. We have a toy poodle (a non shedding dog) so thought this would fit our family the best – I was pregnant when we made this purchase – can you tell?!? We brought our new vacuum home and were in awe to see all the dust that it picked up, and it was so cool to just dump out the canister and start all over again. The new vacuum gave us instant gratification, because as we vacuumed the house, we could see the results immediately in the cannister. What better than to see your hard work actually working.
I had heard wonderful things about Dyson in the past, so was very eager to receive one for review. To be completely honest, I thought it was just a vacuum that did the same thing as every other vacuum, but it was cool because it had a little yellow ball to turn on – more about that later. I should have known better, there is a reason people RAVE about the Dyson.
We vacuum about once a week (or once every other week), we just so happened to vacuum our whole house 2 days before the Dyson arrived. Upon receiving the Dyson, we were surprised as to how compact it was and how light as well (Awww,,, how cute). We quickly put it together, and put it to work. To our complete surprise, shock (and horror) we watched the canister fill up higher and higher and higher very, very quickly. How could this be?!? WE JUST VACUUMED?!? This was one of those OHMYGOODNESS moments.
The rug in the living room, which had just been cleaned 2 days before with our previous vacuum filled up the entire canister and needed to be dumped so we could keep vacuuming. I wish I could say the canister is small, but unfortunately it isn’t – it’s huge! I shed worse than the dog, and the Dyson filled up the cannister with my hair, among other very small pieces of dust that were lodged in the rug. We then did the rest of the house, and had to empty the canister 3 or 4 more times. Since the first use of the Dyson we have not had to dump the canister so often. The reason we had to do it so frequently on the first use was because it picked up everything that our previous vacuum had left behind for the last few years (ewww yuck). On a bright note, all that old dust is now out of our house.
If you can’t already tell, we love the Dyson. It is AMAZING – ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! It never loses suction and it suck really hard. It gets every single thing out of the rugs, off the hardwood or ceramic tiles, and continues to keep on going and going. My hair did manage to get the brissels caught up once, but there is a reset button that just needed to be pressed and the Dyson was ready to go again.
Not only does the Dyson work really well, it is also easy to handle. The yellow ball makes turning super easy. This was one of the biggest complaints I had about our old vacuum. It was like trying to turn it on square wheels. The Dyson can weave in and out really easily and get to any space without having to pick it up. It can simply turn to the place I want it to go. It is also very lightweight so it is easy to bring up and down stairs. It is also compact so easy to store.
My mother can’t stop talking about the old school vacuums- the ones that have the long tube handle and you pull the vacuum along behind you. She loves these because the long tube makes it easy to get under the couches. With most uprights, you can only get about 2 inches under the couch before the vacuum hit the front of the couch. This is the “hook line and sinker” moment for the Dyson. Although the Dyson is an upright vacuum, you can take the handle off (which is the suction tube), and hook it into the attachments and continue vacuuming with the long tube . The vacuum can now go all the way under couches without hitting the front of the couch. Once again, it does not lose suction and vacuums with the same strength.
Before experiencing the Dyson, I did not know there was a difference in vacuums. I thought they all did the same thing. However, since we have used the Dyson, we have all been convinced that there is a difference – a big difference. Dyson has made a huge impression on us. If you are considering buying a Dyson, I can say without a doubt – go for it, you will not be disappointed.

Let me tell you about our vacuum saga. We didn’t have one for a long time and I’d trek down to the resident manager’s apartment and borrow one from her. Then we got one. It goes through belts like I go through Mug root beer. It’s only $20 to replace each belt, but at this point, we could have saved our twenties and purchased a better vacuum!! *sigh*
You get a free asthma and allergy kit when you buy a Dyson online!! I think we could use that for sure in our house!!

Well, I didn’t know they made hand dryers. The Airblade dries hands in 12 seconds! I can’t say we need a hand dryer around here, but that’s pretty nifty all the same!

I think the Ball technology is awesome! Dyson Ball™ vacuums ride on a ball, which pivots around itself so you can instantly change direction with just a turn of the wrist. Sounds like it would make it so much easier to stear.

I love Dyson’s! We have the first Animal that Dyson made, but have been looking at the DC24 compact since we have a 2 year old that wants to help vacuum. I visited the website for the first time today in quite a while (years). I was very interested in the Free asthma & allergy care kit that comes with all the upright or cylinder vacuum cleaners. My family has severe asthma & allergy problems and that kit would be wonderful to have!

I purchased the Animal Dyson since I have Six heavy shedding dogs. Was not worth the Monies I paid. I have tried many bagless vacuums and Dyson was not it. I now own a Oreck and it has been the best.

The DC30 is their least expensive handheld vacuum, it uses a digital motor instead of magnets or carbon brushes.. Cool!

I found it interesting reading through the history of Dyson. It said on their site that the machines now have smaller multiple cyclones, which create greater centrifugal forces, capturing more microscopic dust. Wow! It can sweep up dust that you can’t even see! You are very convincing in this review and now I need a Dyson! I can’t let that stuff remain in my carpet. We have allergies and I have a hunch we’d see a major improvement if we had the dyson.

Wow! I have always wanted to try the Dyson and now am more convinced than ever! We have allergies and a black, shedding dog and was amazed at the descriptions of what the Dyson can do! I might even be convinced to accept this as a birthday present!
I also noticed the air dryers on the website. IKEA has one in their bathrooms and I love them. I try to avoid hand air dryers when I see them because they never seem to dry your hands, take to long to do too little of work and are irritating. But the Dyson dryers actually do what they are supposed to do! Very quickly my hands are dry and I don’t have to wipe them on my Pants 
with 2 dogs…the one specifically for critters would be most helpful

I found out that Dyson Vacuums use a Patented Root Cyclone Technology which uses a force to spin dirt and debree right into the bin. I hear so many people rave about their vacuums. Hopefully I will one day! lol

Seeing is beleiving – I have yet to use a vacuum strong enough to clean carpeting thoroughly, but would definitely love to try one. I can’t tell you how many different ones I’ve tried and none work great. The one we have now is central vac and I am constantly tripping over the long hose.

I have always wanted a Dyson vacuum because of the great quality and especially for allergies and pet hair, as we all have allergies ,plus we have 4 dogs and 2 cats. I have the hand vac. It rocks – good suction, easy to empty and it looks cool too so I don’t mind having it out all the time. Only improvement I would make is a better latch/grip on the extension hose pieces – I had to duct tape those together so I can use it with a long reach all the time (easy vacuuming of floor without having to bend down).
I like the dc31 animal, it is a hand held and has ulsta suction for pet hair.

I’ve lost my faith in Dyson, they claimed to be the first to introduce the airblade…when infact they had been around for over ten years in Japan. All they did was copy the Mitsubishi Jet Towel!! which is actually much faster and much more energy efficient!

I would love to have a Dyson as my Kenmore cannister vaccum has broken apart at the hose and is duct taped in a few places. I will never by a cannister vacuum again, you have to fight to get it to move and it bumps into everything.

I like how it has a brush bar to clean up pet hair, really need that since my cat has started shedding a lot lately. Their hand dryer is cool too, never thought about using one at home!
I am very impressed with the Stubborn dirt brush. Often there are little pieces stuck on the carpet that just won’t vacuum up because they are stuck there and I have to get on my hands and knees and scrape them with my fingernail. This brush would make it so much easier.
I found out on the Dyson website that dogs have allergies too! Vacuuming with a Dyson actually helps prevent dermatitis in dogs causing by scratching.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of the Dyson Animal, but if I had to purchase one, it would be the DC23 All Floors! I also have tile/hardwood and carpeting in my home.
I love those hand dryers and had no idea they were a Dyson product! The first time I used one, I remember being completely freaked out by it, but they work!

I’ve used a Dyson hand dryer at Whole Foods. I knew it cut down on paper waste, but I just learned that it uses up to 80% less energy than a warm air hand dryer.

Well, our Kenmore vacuum has done us well but it’s held together with duck tape. It’s been beaten up and abused- it still works but not very well. I have two cats and a dog (who sheds more than the two cats) so we need some serious sucking power to remove all the animal hair. I have heard great things about the Dyson and I REALLY REALLY want one but unfortunately, they are a little expensive for my budget.

I would love to have a Dyson! Our carpet is pretty old and I know I will be shocked at the dirt this thing would pick up!
I could use some help in the cleaning department!Visiting the website I learned they also offer hand dryers! I also know dyson is suppose to be one of the best vacuums! I can’t tell you how many vacuums I have purchased in the last 5 years, they all are junk! They either burn up and quit or something gets loose and falls off! I now have one that is ready for the garbage… it is so noisy I cringe to use it! And I know the pet hair is hiding everywhere, along with other particles,So I get the broom to finish the job.
My filter queen is about 30 years old and it has been rebuilt many times. I think a new vaccuum would be awesome.

Lots of cool products that Dyson makes. I’ve tried the Handdryer they’ve got, looks like your skin is actually going peel off! Would love a Dyson vac to clean up all the Kitty hair!

I love that so many of their vaccuums are made for homes with pets and with the HEPA filter and the asthma/allergies kit it would be a much better clean! I have two pets and live in a rural area–dust galour–so this would be fantastic!

My daughter gave me the dyson ball animal vacumn a couple years ago as a thankyou for babysitting. I have always vacumned regularily but was amazed by the amount of hair, fluff and fine white powder that the dyson picked up on our first try. Just kept filling up the canister again and again. But it was the fine powder that amazed me. Was it dead dust mights, old powder residue from wear and tear on the carpets, or dog dander? I don’t know. But I do know that it only lasted for a couple of times vacumming before it was all gone. And I slept much better at night, too. Less stuff in the air to plug up my sinuses. And I vacummed the mattress. First time was absolutely scarey. Its amazing what resides in your mattress that you would never otherwise know about!

I would love to own a Dyson… I have heard many good things about it (right now, I do not own one, but it is on my wishlist!) I have allergies, and am told by many that the Dyson is a good cleaning machine to own for those with allergies.
I love the dyson website, very well designed. Pick me, my wife will love me forever!
I love that Dyson offers an Asthma and Allergy Care kit for their vacuums. So great for those aggravated by dirt and dust, and those with pets. Plus, Dysons are bagless and have a great warranty. All good news!

I read about the Dyson Airblade on their website. This is a pet peeve of mine…I can’t stand using the typical hand dryers in public restrooms. My hands NEVER get dry…unless I stand there for an hour. But 12 seconds to dry hands???!!! wow! I want one! Oh Yeah, that along with DC24!
I didn’t know that dyson had a separate HEPA kit. My allergist would be ecstatic!

I can’t wait to get a Dyson. I have wanted one forever. We have alot of cats in our home and have to vaccuum at least once a day to keep up. The hair gets so imbedded in the carpets my husband gets on his hands and knees for hours once a week just to get it picked off our livingroom carpet. I would also love to get the Dyson Airblade for my home. My oldest daughter has OCD and everytime I turn around she using another clean teatowel. I have to wash them all by the end of everyday just so I can have clean ones for the morning. This would be a godsent in my home.

Heard about Dyson’s vacuums years ago in Britain. I would love to put one through it’s paces; especially since I have allergies to dust etc. so a quality product that actually does what it says would be nice to find – and nice to have!!! It may cause them to sneeze or scratch, and could lead to something more serious, like dermatitis. Currently, I own a Bissell “DigiPro”. While I have nothing against the machine itself, there are drawbacks: obtaining canister bags isn’t easy (Bissell apparently didn’t believe that their machines would last more than one year and so only supplied enough bags for one year) and it’s very hard exterior finish is too easily damaged and *almost* impossible to repair.
The Dyson DC24 is an extremely impressive machine–both inside and out. It’s both reminiscent of the “futuristic” machines of the 1920′s as well as being futuristic of the 2000′s; a very difficult feat in styling to follow.

Dyson DC23 Motorhead Pink is the coolest vacuum I’ve ever seen!
I learned how incredibly much I NEED a Dyson! I have severe allergies, and under 40 yrs. old, have had a lung removed, partial heart transplant and pacemaker. I must sleep with oxygen and the work to keep my carpet’s clean and dust free is exhausting. The current vaccuum kick’s up MORE dirt and make’s Me wheeze.
