We are just back in the city after after an incredibly busy, yet fun weekend. We were away celebrating my dad’s 60th birthday and we had the pleasure of attending a wedding at friends of my parents. As you can imagine with a six month old in tow it could have been a bit hectic. I am so glad we found Babyburrito , a wonderful little company with many products to help make life with a six month old so much easier.

Babyburrito is a Montreal based company dedicated to the creation of modern baby accessories. Fashion designer Lianne Hogan has created a very trendy collection of blankets, changing pads, slings, hats, kimonos, sleep sacks and swaddle blankets.

We were very lucky to have been given for review a sling from Babyburrito and I must say I was so thrilled with our sling! The sling is incredibly well made, easy to use and our son enjoyed it so much, he was close to mommy all day! We choose the  incredibly beautiful Japanese brown print with the fully reversible brown interior.

The sling is 100% cotton, and has a cute little front pocket which is ideal for your wallet, phone, etc.

Babywearing has been around for centuries and has many advantages for babies and their parents; it is comfortable and convenient for parents and allows for optimal growth and development of babies. I had our little guy in a sling for several hours and we both loved it.

On Saturday afternoon we attended a wedding and we were of course running very late so we had all of 20 seconds to figure out how to keep our little dude properly in the sling and it was far easier than I imagined. I put it over my shoulder, my husband helped put our little guy in and voila…that was it. He was cruising around the wedding, I was able to move around easily, our guy is now a little over 20 lbs and it can be tiring to hold him on my hip for an extended period of time, the sling distributes the weight and it doesn’t seem like you are carrying any weight at all. Hudson loved it, he was snuggled in close to me, he could see all the sights,  and he even fell asleep!

At my Dad’s birthday party Saturday evening there were sixteen people and a dog coming in and out of the house, lots of food and having him in the Babyburrito  sling meant we could socialize with everyone in different parts of the house (upstairs, out by the pool), he was safe from the dog, I could eat a hot meal (oh yeah…a bit of a rarity these days) as both hands were free and our guy was happy to see everyone and not be stuck in a playpen or limited to be being held by someone in one particular spot or passed around, instead he was with mommy all day and we were both happy.

The sling can be used in six different positions; Cradle Carry, Front Carry, Tummy to Tummy, Kangaroo Hold, Hip Carry and Back Carry. There is a full PDF on the website that gives excellent instructions on using each carry position. We have a chubby 6 month old and we found the hip carry to work the best for us thus far. Hudson and I would definitely recommend using a Babyburrito sling.
