Without telling you exactly when I was born I can tell you several key things I remember about my childhood which will give you an idea of what decade I grew up in. We rode in the back of the truck without seat belts, my first day of school I carried a Hollie Hobby lunch bag and I loved the television show Romper Room. For those of you who remember, Romper Room was a childrens tv show, featuring children playing games, exercising, and music. At the end of each show the hostess would look through the “magic mirror” to give the effect of looking into the homes of those little ones watching and say a little rhyme which started “Romper, bomper, stomper boo.” and would end with the hostess saying “I see Jennifer, I see Michael, Tracey, John” etc. I watched Romper Room every time just praying she would say my name…and nope, nada, it was never said, well at least not that I heard. I think that’s when my love affair with finding personalized items began. My name is Tara and I am sure many of you are thinking that it shouldn’t be all that hard to find notepads, pencils, ornaments with my name…wrong again. Trust me, next time you see a rack of personalized mugs, look for Tara….odds are its not there. Please let me know if you do find one. stick That being said, we have done the same to our son as we have named him Hudson, we feel we given him a bit of a unique name and that is why I was thrilled to find the freckle box website. Frecklebox is a wonderful website with an amazing assortment of personalized gifts for all you parents out there;  especially those who have given your children such wonderfully unique names such as Viola, Astrid, Adelia, Fionn, Ellis and Beckett..just to name a few.

Frecklebox is the brain child of Scott and Mark who combined their knowledge of printing with the love of educating their children. I was asked to choose a personalized product for review and I poured over this website for an hour trying to make the perfect choice, there are so many options! I love frecklebox because of the variety of products as well as price points available. Coloring books are very budget friendly at only $6.95, puzzles are $12.95, lunch boxes are $26.95 each and books are $19.95 for soft cover and $34.95 for hard cover.

zooI choose the hard cover book ” Goes to the Zoo” personalized with Hudson for review and we love, love, love it! The front cover features several of the zoo animals featured in the book, there is a page for a personalized dedication, even the spine of the book had the full personalized title. “Hudson goes to the Zoo” takes Hudson through 16 full color pages of beautifully photographed animals with the challenge of finding their names camouflaged in each setting. b Each double page spread features animals who invite your child to partake in the adventure. Hudson goes to the Zoo begins with “Howdy Hudson, Welcome to our magical zoo. We’re so glad you’ve come to visit. There so much we have to do”. It  is so cute and so well done, kudos to frecklebox! There are currently nine stories to choose from, I also love the idea of the book “ Guess who is  going to be a big brother” but we’ll have to wait a bit for that one!  Frecklebox he website is set up so you can preview the entire book with the personalization so you can read the story and see how beautiful it will be. We received our book with two weeks of ordering it and we are thrilled with it. We read it to Hudson everyday and it will be cherished in our home for years to come.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
