I can not believe that a year has almost gone by already. It seems just like yesterday that we took home our little girl from the hospital at only 6 pounds 9 ounces. As a paranoid new parent, I always made sure DD was covered from head to toe with blankets while in her car seat. I wish I would have known about the next company before I had DD so I would have had a functional blanket for her car seat. The Baby Lua, is a functional blanket that covers the entire car seat, and has a little hole in the top which exposes the car seat handle, making it easy to carry.
I received a Baby Lua with mod dots on one side and brown on the other for review. Like I said before, I wish I had this from the very beginning of DD’s life. I was only able to test this out for a few weeks before I had to put DD in her big girl car seat. However, for the few weeks that I was able to test it out, I really enjoyed it. There are so many great aspects to the Baby Lua. I loved that I could cover her whole entire body from the sun, and the blanket was not right on top of her face. I also loved that if she fell asleep in her car seat, I could just put the Baby Lua on top of the car seat (not having to interrupt her sleep by tucking in a blanket all around her). I also love that it is nice and think (made with fleece), so is can keep her nice and warm while in the car, or out for a walk. This would be great to cover up your baby from the snow or rain as well, although a few flakes may make it through the little hole which exposes the handle. The hole is the perfect size just to get your hand in there, and if you need to make a little more room for your hand, there is an elastic so it can stretch to fit anyone’s grip. There is also a little tie which you can use to keep the Baby Lua in place, but I didn’t find I needed it.
The Baby Lua isn’t quite a full square, the corners have been sewn up so there is no slack that hits the ground when it is on a car seat. I think this is just genius, I don’t know how many times the blanket that I have used to cover DD while in her car seat has dragged along the floor. The Baby Lua will stay off the floor, and remain clean! You can also use this as a nursing blanket too, so one less thing to carry around in your diaper bag.
I really wish I would have gotten more use out of the Baby Lua I received, but I guess at least now I will have one for the future, if we have a baby #2. I will use the Baby Lua right out of the hospital, until the baby ends up into a big kid car seat.
