Yenithing – Yeni Apron Towel – CLOSED

by Mommy on June 28, 2009

yeni1gif

Tub time with a baby and a toddler is – well, pretty messy.  I may as well just get in the tub with DD because usually by the end of the tub bath we are both soaked.  I have no idea how this manages to happen because I only put about an inch or an inch and a half of water. Julie Yenichek  has come up with a solution to this problem.  It seems that I am not the only one experiencing being drenched after tub time.  Julie created a wearable towel called the Yeni.

yeni

The Yeni is a long towel apron which has a strap that goes around the back of your neck. The Yeni stays on (hands free), so I can worry about washing DD in the tub rather than worrying about staying dry.  The Yeni is not only functional, it is fashionable too.  The top of the Yeni has a super modern black and white pattern and it has been personalized with DD’s name in bright pink across the top.

yeni3

The Yeni kept me dry while bathing DD, but I found that the towel was very long and could have used another tie around my hips to keep it in place.  The Yeni reached all the way to my shins, that is quite a length for one piece of material to drag.  At the same time, I liked being able to pick up DD out of the tub and wrap her up in the Yeni.  This is something I would not be able to do as well if there was an extra tie around my back. The best use of the Yeni is actually when I am bathing Cammy (our dog).  I find the Yeni works really well after tub time to pick her up and rub her dry.  Overall, we do like the Yeni very much, the towel is nice and thick and the upper section is very modern and fashionable.  I also like that the Yeni can come with personalization – or without.

yeni2

The Yeni comes in a number of different modern fabrics, thread colours and fonts.  You can create the Yeni that you want.  The personalized Yeni is $40, or if you choose to not have it personalized, it is only $30.

Buy it: To purchase a Yeni, visit them online

Win it: A lucky My Wee View reader will receive a Yeni of their own

To Enter: Visit Yeni online and make a comment back here about your favourite pattern and what you would get on your Yeni

My baby is finally fun to bathe! She hated the tub for the first 10 months of her life. She finally decided water is fun! My ten year old is hard to get in the tub, but once I get her in the shower, she wants to stay in there for 9 years. Sigh.

I don’t have problems bathing my 3 yr. old, except that he hates getting out of the tub. I’m terrified of bathing my 4 month old though and have only done it a few times. I’m afraid of dropping her or something.

Lauren June 28, 2009 at 11:14 pm

I would choose the Addy fabric with green or light blue thread, with a “B” on it – I’d like to see what the “B” looks like in both the Kate & Curlz before committing to which one.

I like the Claire pattern – nice and bright. Since my duaghter’s name has such an unusual spelling, I would get her name on it – nothing else we have has her name on!

Kathryn June 29, 2009 at 9:16 am

I would get the Katie pattern with my own name on it. After all, I’ll soon have two children and one VERY large dog to bathe with it, so having my name on it makes more sense than having that of either of my children!

Kathryn June 29, 2009 at 9:17 am

My boy is a waterbug, so I never had much of a problem bathing him. When he outgrew his baby tub, I just bathed with him, and when he was old enough, I sat beside the bath. But that doesn’t mean my next child will make it that easy!

My kids are grown-up. When I first saw this, the immediately thought of washing the dog even before I read your post and you said it worked for washing your dog, haha. My dog loves to be cuddled after his bath, but I get all wet – this would be terrific. He is kind-of spoiled and to have one with his name on it would be great.

I like the ‘dotty’ pattern and would get a little bit of everything from my baby due in Nov on it

Slee July 5, 2009 at 11:51 pm

fav pattern is “shelby” and it’d say “Cleanliness is Love” or something very similar. Snapdragon doesn’t take baths, he showers with me, but it’d be very useful for some other applications around the house or as a gift for an upcoming babyshower I have in mind.

Slee July 5, 2009 at 11:52 pm

Getting Mongoosine to bathe is like pulling teeth. Snapdragon loves his “rinsey”

RLE July 6, 2009 at 1:05 am

Only that there is three on them and I can’t do it on my own is the thing I don’t like about baths. They love baths and would splash around for hours if I let them!

My son has gotten a lot better about taking baths. He loves to splash and play. He hates getting out of the tub though. I always end up all wet when he is out and finished.
