It seems that everyone has this new type of wall decor in their homes, except for my husband and I. I’m not sure why, maybe I thought it would be too much work, or maybe it was because I was scared I would mess things up and it would look terrible – ok, yes that is the real reason. I thought what the heck, everyone else is doing it so why don’t I give it a try it can’t be THAT hard!
Scribble it has a huge selection of wall art to choose from. I wanted to get them all, one for above the bed, one for my entry way, one for the kitchen… I just couldn’t decide. In the end, I told Cammi, the owner of Scribble it, to pick something for me. I’m so glad I let her pick, because she sent me a beautiful piece of wall art for my front entry way. The Scribble it wall art came in a circle tube, so there was no chance of the package being ruined in the mail. I laid my art flat on the table overnight (as per the instructions) and the next day, we (my husband and I) were ready to get decorating.
This was so easy, I can’t believe I was ever nervous about doing this. First I washed the wall, then placed the Scribble it wall art on the wall and made sure it was level. I used a level along the top of the words to make sure it was straight. We then tapped all 4 sides to the wall. Here is where the magic and a little bit of juggling goes on. To get the wall art to stick to the wall, you have to peel off the protective seal. It’s like a double stick tape with a plastic on both sides. I released one of the tapped sides, and slowly peeled off the backing that was closest to the wall. This part is done best with 2 people. While I continued to pull the backing off, my husband was pressing along the wall where the plastic had just been removed. This would have worked best with one of those plastic scrappers, but we didn’t have one, so my husbands palm had to do. Slowly, we peeled off the protective seal until the whole piece was stuck to the wall. I really took my time, and made sure that while I was pulling off the seal no lettering remained on the paper.
We were now 1/2 way done. The Scribble it wall art was on the wall, but we couldn’t see the finished product yet because the second half of the protective seal was still on top of it. We pushed and rubbed on each and every inch of the wall art to make sure it was all stuck to the wall. Then we slowly started to peel off the top layer. Sometimes some of the lettering came off with the paper, but because we took our time and watched each and every inch that was being pulled off, I was able to put the paper back up and rub that section a little harder and it stuck to the wall with no bumps or air bubbles. You can’t tell that we had to go back to make sure the section stuck to the wall. I really like this aspect, because by no means am I creative, I loved that it was nearly fool proof and still looked professional even though I had to go back and fix it.
When all the protective peeling was pulled off, we were left with a beautiful Home Sweet Home picture in a chocolate brown. After we were all done, we noticed that there were 2 little dots still left on the protective seal that we just pulled off. We looked through the whole picture and we are still not able to see where it came from. So, even if you do mess up a little, your mistakes won’t even be noticed. I would definitely be willing to do my whole house with Scribble it because it’s so easy, very forgiving, even for beginners, and it looks incredible like a professional did it. I am so proud of our work!

I really, really like the No Soliciting scribble…
But I choose Welcome with the stars all through it as my official ‘really like’ scribble. It would be fun to add ‘I don’t need newspapers, vacuums, meat or a dictionary’ to the first.
