Raplapla is the creation of Erica in Montreal, Quebec. Erica takes her time and has thought out each one of her creations in fine detail. I was so impressed with the package I received from Raplapla. Monsieur Tsé-Tsé, a square cute monster made out of organic cotton, comes in his own house! Yes, Monsieur Tsé-Tsé is so important that he has his own cardboard house that he arrived in. This is one of those packages that you will not want to throw out. The packaging for Monsieur Tsé-Tsé has actually won an award. I knew there was reason to be impressed! The cards that also come with the Raplapla dolls are also something to be admired. This is a true art!

Raplapla is pleased to announce that Monsieur Tsé-Tsé has won first prize in the ‘single unit packaging’ category at the 2008 Grafika 2008 Awards for his charming little house created by Atelier Chinotto and decorated by Isabelle Arsenault. In addition, we have also won a prize for our product catalogue, also designed by Atelier Chinotto, illustrated by Elise Eskanazi, with photography by Christian Guay.
My daughter loves both her dolls from Raplapla. They offer 2 very different feelings.
The first is Monsieur Tsé-Tsé, this square little guy is very squishy, and soft for little fingers to feel. The arms and legs are just the right size for tiny mouths, and there are little ears tied in a knot that make it really nice for teething babies to bite and suck on. Monsieur Tsé-Tsé, has a very large orange smile and has a big heart on his left hand side. Although I would think he is a monster, he looks very friendly and is very inviting. He is light weight and makes a great doll to bring around with you. Because he is made of cotton you can throw him in the wash over and over again and he will come out looking great. On the tag it says in French “His smile doesn’t leave in the wash”. Very cute! The tag also says “fabrique tranquillement a Montreal”. In English it says “Made slowly in Montreal”. I would say the word traquillement means more than slow. It means, to be careful with patience, and precision. Monsieur Tsé-Tsé has easily become one of my daughters favourite toys, and we have come to love him as well!
The other item I received from Raplapla is a pig! This pig has so many great textures for developing little hands. The pig himself is made out of suede, his hat is cotton, his nose is felt, under his ears is silk, and our favourite part, the top of his hat is little pieces of yarn! Pig is also light weight and squishy, so it’s easy for little children to grab on to and bring a long with them. My daughter loves to feel all the texture Pig has to offer,and my husband loves to tease her with the ticklish yarn on the top of Pigs hat! Both of these toys keep her laughing and interested for a long period of time. Once again, this Pig is easily washed and easy to take along with you anywhere you go.
