Janestrap – Review & Giveaway – CLOSED

Thanks to the Baywatch Babes, running along with the beach with your knockers bouncing up and down has become somewhat of a “sexy” thing.  Ladies, you can all vouch for me when I say there is nothing that feels sexy about it.  If it were men that had to run along with extra weight pounding up and down, they would invent something to keep that from happening wouldn’t they?  Oh wait – there is something for men, the jock strap.  Now, not to get too graphic, but can you see the size difference in the items which are being bounced around?  Ok, now that you have a visual, does it make any sense at all that the jock strap even exists compared to what women are going through?  Didn’t think so.

It took a women to invent something that would save the rest of us from that uncomfortable running bounce.  Carol Clay is the inventor behind the Janestrap, and she’s Canadian!  This thick band clips around the top of your chest keeping your chest in place while working out.  No more Baywatch moments! Carol, who is a runner, thought of the Janestrap after she had her first child. Her chest grew and running became uncomfortable and painful, she wrapped herself with a belt from her bath robe, and the rest is history.

jane

I wasn’t sure what size I was going to need to test out because I am so unproportionate.  My bra strap is a 32, and before I got pregnant, I wore an H cup.  Just when I thought it was impossible for things to get any bigger, I got pregnant, and then I started nursing.  Needless to say, I am still nursing and I have no idea what bra size I am (I am too scared to get a true fitting).  So, I thought I would need the large or extra large for sure.  Just to be on the safe side, Carol sent me all the sizes they carry (x-small – large).  It turns out, I am a Medium!  I could not believe my eyes, or my chest.  The reason that I am a medium is because the strap actually goes on top of the cheat area not over breasts themselves.  The Janestrap has 4 rows of hooks like a bar strap does so there is lots of room to grow (or shrink)!

The Janestrap works so well.  I figure I am a really great test candidate since I’ve got so much weight to bare.  I hate doing jumping jacks, running, bouncing,  or anything else that makes me go up and down!  With the Janestrap, I can do all these activities and everything stay in place.  The Janestrap really does “Beat the Bounce”. The Janestrap also make me keep my posture.  It’s nice and tight all the way around so it keeps me from slouching, which is GREAT during work outs.

Since I’m nursing right now, there is not really a need to do much working out (for all of you who have not been able to lose weight, try nursing, this is the only way I have been successful), but I can remember when I was attending the gym regularly, how frustrating it was to be bouncing all over the place.  I had some very expensive work out bras (that never ended up fitting correctly), and were suppose to support and blah blah blah… well they did not do anything for me.  The Janestrap has come up with the idea to support from the other direction.  If there is no bounce, there is no need for support!  This is what makes it so unique and why it works.  I did all the regular work out tests, jumping jacks, a bit of running, and some bouncing and the Janestrap kept me in place and modest!  I love that.

The Janestrap is available online, and comes in white and black.  Once I am done nursing and staying in shape is all up to me again, I will regularly wearing my Janestrap while working out.  It really helps with the pressure that the bounce creates.  Those of you who are in a similar situation can understand what I am saying.

I learned that the Janestrap doesn’t take the place of a good sports bra. It is to be used when you have a good sports bra and still notice excessive bounce. It’s an adjunct, not a replacement.

I learned the inventor/founder is actually named Carol. The very first Janestrap prototype was the tie belt to her bathrobe. Them while driving, a road sign flashed the name “Jane St”, seeing that she decided to call the product Janestrap. She named the product Janestrap as tribute to the first sports bra. In 1977 two American women took a pair of jock straps, cut them apart, and sewed them together, thus creating the first sports bra:) This giveaway is so timely for me as I have started walking and exercising to lose weight and my bouncing breasts are so embarrassing. I wondered if there was a product available for me, and here it is! The Janestrap!

Carol said “The very first Janestrap™ prototype was literally the tie-belt to my bathrobe. I put on my most useless sports bra and then wrapped the tie-belt around my chest and fastened it with some safety pins. I then went for a run and was completely blown away! This crazy idea works! There was no bounce.”

I learned that the name came as a testiment to the first sports bra being made of two cut and sewn jock straps. LOL! Also, I didn’t learn this on the site, but this product was featured on my absolute favourite show of all time, Dragon’s Den! The Dragons said, “Nobody will work out wearing that thing around their chest!” No offence to my beloved Dragons, but they’ve shown their prejuduices as four men and one small-chested woman! When you’re working out in pain, the attractiveness of the strap that takes that pain away is the LEAST of your concerns!

This would be very handy for me. I’m not currently doing much exercising (only so much you can do at 7 months pregnant)…but I sure don’t want any bounce when it’s time to get back in shape!!
