Malou from Super Duper Diapers had such a great response last time her products were featured on My Wee View that she sent another item for me to test out. One of the most popular items that you said you wanted to try was the swim diaper, so Super Duper Diapers sent me one to try!
Last time I met Malou at her house, this time Malou came all the way over to my house to drop off the swim diaper, how is that for customer service? The diaper once again can be used for a very long time and there are 2 different ways of using it, so Malou took the time to explain in great detail how to get the diaper to work the best for each size. DD is around 16 pounds right now so she wears the diaper at the smallest size.

The smallest way is to fold the front down and pull the two side tabs onto the velcro. For the biggest size, simply put the diaper on as normal, no need for folding anything down. My mother and husband were both able to figure out how to put this on without my instructions, I think because it is similar to the other Super Duper Diapers products, they were able to figure it out very easily.
The outside of the diaper is made out of nylon and the inside has a few layers of cloth so that it is thick enough to hold in some pee. The diaper is not to thick that it is bulky either. I have two 12 month old tankinis that I have for DD and the diaper fits fine in the bottoms. A little bit of the white diaper comes out of the sides, but no more than a swimmer.
To bring you all an accurate account of how this swim diaper works, it took me over 15 times in the swimming pool before DD did number 2 in it! To be honest I don’t even know if the poop she did have was while swimming or just afterwards. Either way, when we were done swimming and I went to change her bottom, I was surprised to see an explosive poop in her swim diaper – finally. I didn’t think that she was ever going to do number 2 in this diaper. I thought that because the diaper was wet all the way through that the poop would have leaked out the sides, but I actually didn’t even know that she had pooped until I changed her. There you have it – this diaper kept all the poop (and it wasn’t a hard poop) inside the diaper. Her swimsuit was still white – thankfully (how silly of me to buy a 7 month old a white swim suit).
After the 14 other times we went swimming, there was mostly just a pee pee in the swim diaper, I was able just to clean it out in the sink and the diaper would dry easily in about a day. But after the big number 2, I had to put it in the washer, and everything washed out just fine. I also put the diaper in the dryer and it did not shrink, fray, lose it’s absorbency or anything (like any cloth diaper it gets more absorbent after a few washes). It looked as good as new. There are now just a few little stains that I know would come out in the sun. It’s still winter here in Canada so come springtime, I am going to put all my diapers out in the sun so they can bleach back to their original colours.
Super Duper Diapers has 2 sized for this swim diaper. The first is from size 10 lbs – 30 lbs available in white and lilac, the second is 15 lbs – 40 lbs which is only available in white. My humble advise would be to get the bigger size since you will be able to use it longer on the back end. When babies are young they put on weight very quickly, as they get older they stay the same weight for longer periods. So, I think if you get the bigger one, you will be able to get more use out of it.
The greatest part about these Super Duper Diapers is that they are totally affordable. They are only $12 for the small or large. How amazing is that? I’m not sure how much little swimmers are, but I’m sure you will be saving yourself money by buying this diaper. You just have to make one investment and you can use it over and over again until your child no longer needs to wear a diaper.
With the summer season coming up, this would be a great time to get the swim diaper. I used it a lot already and summer isn’t even here. I used it while we were staying at a hotel for 10 days in Ottawa, and while on vacation down south. I did not need to get any little swimmers, I just used the swim diaper from Super Duper Diapers over and over and I know I have already saved myself money.
As always, Super Duper Diapers has all your diapering needs! Check out their site to see what they have. If you are intimidated by Cloth diapering, Malou will make it very easy for you. She is very easy to get along with and will not make you feel inadequate at all. And shipping is always free!

The swim diaper would be awesome to buy as those Lil Swimmers are expensive if you swim often. I also really liked the teething necklaces in the pink for girls at 11″ for a baby.
